The part of Ukraine they want is ethnically Russian. The citizens all speak Russian. The two parties were in negotiations when the administration told them to stop. Why?
Ukraine has no hope of winning. When they lose, they will have to give up the whole country. They have given up one million young men to death and serious injuries. No buildings. No heritage. No sense of home anymore. A significant segment of the population has left the country to be assimilated into other countries.
Use your own common sense. Did Biden do them a favor when he ended the talks?

Your last paragraph is a testament to “Peace Through Strength”. No Russia doesn’t want to fight house to house for that state. The founding fathers wanted us armed as a deterrent to invasion. Been working pretty good. One of our many defenses.

Martha, my dear, as soon as it was clear that tRump's Jan 6 insurrection had failed, Russia began concentrating 100,000 troops on Ukraine's border. Russia claimed there were "Nazis" in Ukraine. That was their excuse for sending columns of tanks directly towards Kiev. And Kiev is NOT ethnically Russian.

And, Martha my dear, you are completely ignoring the fact that Russia, the US, and the Ukraine signed the three-way treaty known as the 1994 Budapest Memorandum. It's a binding treaty, and we are upholding our treaty obligations. International treaties are important!!

Since, @MarthannBann888, you seem so fond of the "might makes right" approach to politics, consider that it's only the might of folks like the NATO signatories that gives international treaties any force in the world. It is very much in our USA interest to make sure the world understands there is a large cost to violating treaties. Treaties keep the peace as long as they have credibility, and we are providing that credibility for all to see.

The history between Ukraine and Russia is much older than your 30-year old treaty. The treaty has nothing to do with the history between the two countries or the historical basis on which the two might have worked out an agreement. But, since you seem to love death and belong to the party of death, I am sure you are enjoying the death of a people as much as you enjoyed the death of the Russians.
Since you seem to have so little understanding of my motives, as you understand nothing else either, I will say that I abhor murder, and unlike you would rather see people happier than they would be dying in a bombed out building of starvation and gunshot wounds. I think you would be happier finding something more positive to think about than unborn babies trying to escape their mother’s womb before they are torn apart by the abortion so called doctor.
