How significant is the recent escalation between NATO and Russia?

NATO is now allowing the use of American and British missiles in Russian territory. In September, Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer decided, after discussions, not to allow this. We can assume the reason is wanting to avoid escalation. Putin issued a very clear warning and they appeared to listen.

What has changed since then? It has only been two months. Russia continues to do well, which is not a change as Russian military has been doing well for over a year. Why is Biden, before he leaves office, allowing Ukraine to use these missiles? He knows what the potential consequences are. Starmer also knows what the consequences are. The deep state know the consequences. This can only be a way to try to sabotage Trump's presidency.

Do you think this escalation is significant? What do you think will happen?

Well most NATO members are supposedly against a Trump presidency, I think they are trying to give Ukraine all the support to get ahead before Trump takes over

@specman True. It is their last chance to save their investments.

@specman We should just leave NATO (It's just a big money pit for the US anyways), see how long their free ukraine rhetoric lasts when they lose 80% of their funding & military support...

@specman The German chancellor Olaf Scholz is refusing to send long range missiles to Ukraine. He is trying to secure another term in the German election in February. He has told the Germans he does not want to escalate the war. Most Europeans do not want to see the war get out of hand, which is what happens if you (UK, France, and US) facilitate the use of long range missiles inside Russia. This is a deep state agenda. The idea is that they will cause an escalation, a significant escalation, before Trump becomes president.

@SW-User Scholz, like putin, is yesterday's man. Within weeks he will be replaced... most likely by Friedrich Merz and russia's free-ride from the milquetoast scholz will be over.

@newjaninev2 Scholz knows the German public do not want to send weapons and escalate the war. In two months, Donald Trump is going to be inaugurated and he will stop military aid to Ukraine. Ukraine are losing the war. The British media outlet BBC said they are near “collapse.”

If there is no U.S. support, it means that we have no air defense, no Patriot missiles, no jammers for electronic warfare, no 155-millimeter artillery rounds,” he said. “It means we will go back, retreat, step by step, in small steps.

@newjaninev2 Meanwhile, Russia explicitly puts US military base in Poland on notice.

Poland's response?

. Poland has claimed the base mentioned by Russia poses no threat.

A spokesman for Warsaw’s foreign ministry said no nuclear missiles were based there and its functions were purely defensive.
😂🤣. Almighty NATO
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ImNotHungry 'on notice'?? Seriously? Nobody cares what russia says or thinks about anything, and the Poles simply continue building the base 😀

There are no nuclear missiles at that base... why does that seem to perplex you?

The Poles, of course, understand how important it is to be well prepared to defend yourself if russia is your neighbour.

The Poles understand the present-day reality:

So go ahead... make the mistake.

@ImNotHungry The russian terrorists threaten NATO member states most days... nobody cares.

It's just more blah blah blah from the land of Potemkin

@newjaninev2 “Nobody cares what russia says or thinks about anything, and the Poles simply continue building the base”

If this were true, Biden would not have taken over a year to allow the use of long range missiles inside Russia. Zelenskyy acknowledged in March this year that he does not rule out Putin using nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons have been used twice (Hiroshima, Nagasaki) and their existence means they can be used again. The likelihood is high.

I have to ask: why do you refuse to capitalize Putin and Russia? It makes you look like a clown, a hateful and demented witch clown.
