How significant is the recent escalation between NATO and Russia?

NATO is now allowing the use of American and British missiles in Russian territory. In September, Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer decided, after discussions, not to allow this. We can assume the reason is wanting to avoid escalation. Putin issued a very clear warning and they appeared to listen.

What has changed since then? It has only been two months. Russia continues to do well, which is not a change as Russian military has been doing well for over a year. Why is Biden, before he leaves office, allowing Ukraine to use these missiles? He knows what the potential consequences are. Starmer also knows what the consequences are. The deep state know the consequences. This can only be a way to try to sabotage Trump's presidency.

Do you think this escalation is significant? What do you think will happen?

It is significant. It remains to be seen if Russia will respond in a manner NATO clearly wants it to so as to throw a spanner in the wheels of Trump's plan. It remains to be seen if Trump himself will hold true to his word.

@ImNotHungry russia is incapable of any meaningful response, and nobody cares what trump says or does... on the world stage he's tolerated at best, and openly laughed at. He's a total buffoon who has never 'held good to his word'.

In 2016, Trump
* Promised a tax cut that pays for itself;
* Promised to replace Obamacare with something better and cheaper that covers everyone;
* Promised a trillion dollars worth of infrastructure spending;
* Promised "We're going to see economic growth of 4, 5 & maybe 6%!";
* Promised to reduce deficit and eventually balance the budget;
* Promised to reduce prices of prescription drugs;
* Promised he had made the world safe from Kim Jong Un's missiles;
* Promised to make Mexico pay for that wall;
* Promised to release his tax returns;
* Promised to cut the number of tax brackets, repeal the alternative minimum tax, eliminate the carried-interest loophole, and allow individuals to deduct health care insurance premiums from taxes.

russia is incapable of any meaningful response,

A meaningful response to what? What has Ukraine claimed to destroy save to admit they fired atacms missiles into Russian territory? I haven't been paying attention but from what I've heard, they managed to start a fire 🔥 😂. I suspect the Russians enjoyed some smores before putting it out.

Speaking of meaningful response, Ukraine itself claims Russia used a whole ass ICBM to destroy an industrial zone in the City of Dnepr, Ukraine.

According to local residents to Ukrainian media, there has never been such an explosion, some kind of triple detonation

Wha!!! I guess NATO is right on it and will be in Moscow by the morrow 😂
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ImNotHungry yes, they started a fire that took out a major barbarian ammunition depot. 😂

They were standard ballistic missiles, of which two got through and caused two deaths (brave russians, huh?) and some damage. No industrial ones were destroyed... remember, russians attack only schools, children's hospitals, and apartment buildings. They're not so keen about anything that can shoot back.

What does any of that have to do with NATO?

with all of 6 atacms? Like I said, they started a fire
😂

Oh, so Ukrainians were LYING possibly to force NATO to act and die on it's behalf? Now why would the all mighty winning Ukrainians do such a thing? 😂

What does any of that have to do with NATO?

The claim of ICBMs being used was made by Ukraine... Now granted, if, and it is unlikely they were ICBMs, but if they were, I trust NATO will act swiftly and you seem to believe they will. Why wouldn't they? Why would Ukraine air defense lie? 🤥 😂
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ImNotHungry Perhaps you could ask them if they were mistaken? If they were deliberately lying then they'll admit to it.

Why do you keep thinking that NATO are fighting russia?

Perhaps you could ask them if they were mistaken?

Mistaken 😂🤣You should seriously try stand up comedy. You mean the almighty Ukraine with all of its exceptional western intelligence cannot identify what weapons were fired its way?. That is a world ending mistake 😂.

Why do you keep thinking that NATO are fighting russia?
maybe because it is...🤷‍♂
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ImNotHungry Your admiration for Ukraine is understandable, but they're really not infallible.

When did NATO forces engage russia?

750,000 dead russians... and NATO has even joined the fight (yet).

@ImNotHungry Ukraine has been using the West's surplus and obsolete stock. If you find the current weaponry sophisticated then, well... you ain't seen nothing yet.

Fortunately, you won't need to. Ukraine is rapidly developing its own military industry, mainly in partnership with European manufacturers In that regard, and in much the same manner that putin has made russia irrelevant in the modern world, trump will make America's arms industry irrelevant. The age of the sabre-rattling super-power is over. War has suddenly gone from 'good business' to being 'economic suicide' (and China has just now realised that).

why are NATO nations willing to sacrifice

Because you don't have to be Ukrainian to support Ukraine's fight against the murderous russians... you just need to be a decent human being.

If you'd like me to clarify that for you, I'll do my best, but I'm not sure you'll ever grasp what it means.

Sullivan.... Sullivan said it. But that's an interesting point you are making that according to YOU and people that think like you, Putin is the new Hitler who needs to be eliminated at all cost and to do so the west gives Ukraine obselete hand-me-down weapons that Zelensky has to prostitute himself for? 😂

Fortunately, you won't need to. Ukraine is rapidly developing its own military industry,

Yeah... About that....
Oops!!! You said Putin had no means of response for western provocations🤷‍♂. Guess you were wrong but that's nothing new.😂

Oddly enough the "decent" citizens of these countries e.g America, VOTED AGAINST WAR WITH RUSSIA!!! 🤣😂🤦‍♂🤦‍♂.How are you not getting This? Are you are aware that currently even the majority of UKRAINE citizens want the war to end ? 👀 I guess Russia has beat the decency out of them. Go Putin 😂

Please point out where I said that
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@ImNotHungry Oh, was there an extra question on the ballot paper... do you want russia's war against the sovereign democracy of Ukraine to end?

I'm sure most everyone would definitely want russia's war against the sovereign democracy of Ukraine to end... especially the very people being murdered by the russian terrorists.

Why do these realities seem to surprise you?
ImNotHungry · 36-40, M
@newjaninev2
"Please point out where I said that"

Nah.. I'm not prepared to sift through the nonsense you've spewed on different posts and threads. Just make a denial and we can leave it at that. It's good you understand the capabilities of Russia.🫡

do you want russia's war against the sovereign democracy of Ukraine to end?
What difference does it make? Ukrainians want an end to the war. But you claimed nobody wants to fight for Putin. Turns out no one wants to fight for Zelenskyy to continue to amass billions while Ukrainians die either. 🤷‍♂

I'm sure most everyone would definitely want russia's war against the sovereign democracy of Ukraine to end...

You are being deliberately obtuse because the claim wasn't that they seek an end by military means. In fact if you read, Ukrainians want a NEGOTIATED end to the conflict rather than fight. Also, apparently they support territorial concessions.😂But WHY , Ukraine according to you is WINNING BIGLY. Why not simply finish the job? Maybe they need YOU to motivate them?

Bell Victoria Nuland to bake them more delicious cookies. That oughta do it 😛

@ImNotHungry
Just make a denial

No need to do that... it's your claim, so the onus is on you to back it up. Please point out where I said that

Clearly you have run out of arguments if this is all you have been reduced to but I will take this nonsense as a concession.

52% of 52%
I'm not certain what point you are trying to make here. So a majority of a majority is somehow inconsequential. Nothing to see here mate. 🤦‍♂

The point is the majority of those that seek a negotiated end are prepared to concede land... Yeah thats why it's NOTED*. Or do you think those opposed to ending the war should also be surveyed on land concessions? 👀🤔

"leaving 73% saying that russia's land grab won't be accepted"

That's cute you think they have a choice in the matter.

Don't try too hard.

Awww! It's a nice dream though.🤣
