Potential Donald Trump AG Pick Threatens to Throw Letitia James’ ‘Fat Ass in Prison’
Following President-elect Donald Trump’s historic win, one of his potential picks to lead the Justice Department had strong words for New York Attorney General Letitia James.
In an interview with journalist Benny Johnson, conservative lawyer and commentator Mike Davis threatened to throw James’ “fat ass in prison” if she continued to pursue her cases against Trump.
Davis’ comment came after James insisted on Wednesday that she would continue to prosecute the president-elect, stating that she would fight any potential “revenge or retribution,” per the Daily Mail.
James’ message did not sit well with Davis, the founder and president of the Article III Project, a conservative organization focused on judicial nominations.
“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump…listen here, sweetheart, we’re not messing around this time and we will put your fat ass in prison for conspiracy against rights,” he said. “I promise you that.”
In her civil fraud case, James accused Trump of overexaggerating his net worth by billions to secure more favorable terms on loans and insurance, resulting in her winning a $454 million judgment.
During a news conference on Wednesday, James insisted that she is “not fearful of Donald Trump,” when asked about the case.
“We did not expect this result,” she said in reference to Trump’s election win. She also insisted that they were “prepared to respond to this result.”
“And my office has been preparing for several months because we’ve been here before. We faced this challenge before, and we used the rule of law to fight back,” said James.
“And we are prepared to fight back once again, because as the attorney general of this great state, it is my job to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law.”
Davis, citing 8 U.S.C. § 241, a federal statute against conspiring against rights, as the tool that would be needed to prohibit James from targeting “political enemies.”
“I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term. It’s not going to happen again,” he told Newsmax.
“I can imagine that the Trump 47 Justice Department is not going to have any patience for this Democrat lawfare over the next four years.”
