Yep. All elections in Australia are Ranked Choice, called Preferential Voting, and it works just fine.
I'm confused, what's the downside to it?

@sstronaut There is no downside. It was absolutely a good thing. There would be no more votes thrown away because someone voted for a candidate who dropped out. I legitimately don't understand what the problem is with it.
