Early voting disruptions and violence

Anyone notice that the belligerent voters who are causing scenes and not following voting protocols at early voting locations are all Trump supporters? Being verbally and even physically abusive toward elderly volunteers just trying to do their jobs?
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Trump's Cult embodies his values of violence and sadism towards others. It is not surprising that they react that way.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
anyone notice that controversy over voting integrity always occurs in places that rabidly oppose voter ID?

If requiring and ID to vote is "prejudice" against minorities as democrats claim, can't the same be said for those who want to drive a car, purchase alcohol and tobacco or purchase a firearm? 🤔
olderuncle944 · 70-79, M
@Corporalcolleague I agree why would showing your id be a problem at any election to prove your a registered voter
pdockal · 56-60, M
@olderuncle944

It should be required !!!!!!
Strictmichael75 · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 so destroying votes is acceptable to you?
Very democratic of you
thisguy20 · 41-45, M
"causing scenes", "verbally abusive", "physically abusive", "attempting to intimidate": just descriptions of tRUMP supporters and donOLD to a t

It shouldn't be a problem. It only becomes a problem when states make it much more difficult for the poor and elderly to obtain ID. Make voter ID free and easy and it won't be an issue.

I've got NO PROBLEM with the theory of voter ID, as long as it's free and easy. I DO have a problem with the practice of making it differentially harder for the elderly & working poor. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/challenge-obtaining-voter-identification

"Voter ID laws have been estimated by the U.S. Government Accountability Office to reduce voter turnout by 2-3 percentage points, translating to tens of thousands of votes lost in a single state." https://www.aclu.org/news/civil-liberties/block-the-vote-voter-suppression-in-2020/

Alabama is a case in point. A state shouldn't be allowed to do what Alabama did, passing voter ID laws and then closing ID issuing offices in predominantly poor or black counties.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
I find it sexist that liberals want to vote Harris to be first female president,when the ignore Jill Stein.
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@MrBrownstone could it be she has more credentials and better policy rather than about her gender?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@MrBrownstone Stein’s closeness to Putin and Putinist narratives is highly suspect
So much shenanigans the only option will be the save act for clean elections 🍿
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout another myth the Orange man wants you to believe...that elections that he loses aren't free and fair...
@Corporalcolleague it’s already passed in the house… this myth I apparently made up…
Just need a red flag event to pressure the senate to pass it too..

Such a yuge myth….
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout my apologies....i misread...the SAVE Act...got it...i thought you were saying elections were not free, fair, and clean. Understand now what you were referencing.
HobNoblin · 36-40, M
Look comrade! I think there's a squirrel in that house! You'd better inform on them!
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@HobNoblin huh?
Jake966 · 56-60, M
So they say
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@Corporalcolleague they wear the clothes but do they really support him ?
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@Jake966 maybe they are antifa and BLM like the people who stormed the Capitol building on Jan 6? The good Lord knows a Trump supporter would have never done such violence...after all they were told to march peacefully, no? sheesh
Jake966 · 56-60, M
@Corporalcolleague I’m not saying it’s not possible but could be others though
MasterLee · 56-60, M
So like j6 a bunch of libbies dress in maga hats and cause problems. The lamestream media eats it up without question.
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@MasterLee that is what the MAGAverse would have us believe....another lame lie
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Corporalcolleague is that so. Might check yourself.
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@MasterLee might, but won't. Thanks though 👍
rule of thumb

if they gets arrested and prosecuted = trump supporter
if they get police escort and cover their faces.. = glowie fed..

so were there any arrests?..
TheShanachie · 61-69, M
Yes I noticed this and I’m not surprised.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I'd expect nothing less of them.
solitaire · 41-45, F
You think Kamala Harris is good for America?
solitaire · 41-45, F
@ChipmunkErnie I'm from India FYI
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@solitaire yes, things are much better with regard to immigration due to Biden's EO, inflation is WAY down, lots of work to be done on prices, and she wants to be everyone's president, not just the people who vote for her. I need a president who has class, joyful, and optimistic. Hate me, I am getting used to being an "enemy of the people".

hunkalove · 61-69, M
And guess whose side el coppos are on? It doesn't matter whether Trumpski wins or loses, he wins just like he did in 2016 after Hillary had 3 million more votes.
Johnson212 · 61-69, M
The would not let me in to early vote because I was wearing a white shirt, a red tie, and a red ball cap with nothing written on it.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
@Johnson212
Sure…
RedBaron · M
Not when I live, although Trump supporters are virtually non-existent here.

You have a link?
Those are not "voters". They're rioters and should be treated as such.
ilikeitlikethat23 · 61-69, M
@HootyTheNightOwl what time is the next clan meeting?
@ilikeitlikethat23 They're probably all gathered around their bonfire right now...
ilikeitlikethat23 · 61-69, M
Need their asses handed to them behing the polls, random acts of violence do happen.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
I rather doubt it. The left is the trouble makers.
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
Of course they are. That's what they are like.
TheSpectator · 31-35, M
Appalong behaviour.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
Nope! Actually from what I have seen it's the Harris supporters. They know they have no chance of winning and they are trying to stop people from voting for Trump.
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Corporalcolleague

I don't condone the violence in any way but ......

Don't we still have freedom of expression ?
Corporalcolleague · 61-69, M
@pdockal a valid point but the polling regulations have likely been in place for years....is there a process to change them? I am sure there is if enough people feel that they ought to be able to express their support of a candidate as others vote 🤷‍♂
AbbySvenz · F
Each state has some form of restriction on political activities near polling places when voting is taking place, such as limiting the display of signs, handing out campaign literature or soliciting votes within a pre-determined distance (typically 50 to 200 feet) of a polling place. Some states also address what apparel voters can wear within polling places.

In summary:

21 states prohibit campaign apparel/buttons/stickers/placards.

38 states and Washington, D.C., prohibit campaign materials/signs/banners/literature.

29 states prohibit influencing voters/soliciting votes/political persuasion.

18 states and Washington, D.C., prohibit circulating petitions/soliciting signatures.

10 states prohibit projecting sounds referring to candidates/issues.

6 states prohibit polls/exit polls.

9 states prohibit loitering.

3 states prohibit peddling/advertising.

10 states prohibit voter intimidation/interfering with voter.

10 states prohibit obstructing entrance/hindering voter.

There is a breakdown of electioneering prohibitions and apparel guidelines by state in that article as well
