Why is America voting on a tuesday ?

almost every other country votes on a sunday, which kinda makes sense. you want people to be able to participate in a vote and thats difficult if you have a job, especially when i see the long lines for voting in America. why is that ? cant you just open another voting "office", this all seems terrible organized and planned.

we used to be a GOD fearing nation

@1490wayb now the candidate openly mocks god to a round of applause. If she goes into office I'm preparing for the final days of this world
@SW-User You mean Trump? Like when he said he's never asked God for forgiveness? Or when he tear-gassed demonstrators so he could do a photo-op at a church he's never attended, holding a Bible he's never read?

The hecklers at the Harris rally weren't saying "praise Jesus" or whatever, they were saying "liar," so her response that they were at the wrong rally was appropriate. Harris has never "mocked God," but Trump certainly has.

@LeopoldBloom it's hard to argue when we live in a time where people are so proud to be willingly ignorant. No matter what happens there's always a mob to twist it around and deny reality. I let people live in their made up world and they deserve the struggles they have in life, because people would rather live and work around issues than addressing their flaws and changing. I live in a town full of people like that and they come from generations of poverty all it takes is recognizing your flaws and improving on them. As long as peolple theive in a world of disillusions theres literally no reason to engage with them. It's just unfortunate their playing pretend has real life consequences for everyone around them.

@SW-User I think you said it quite clear and your name also helps.
My opinion is you are the one that fails to see the real world if you think dump oops I mean rump did not go for the photo opportunity . I hope you can get back to your own little world in your town .

@SW-User Move to Saudi Arabia?

The US is a secular country FYI. God has nothing to do with state, per the first amendment.

@Elessar it's utter ignorance to look at American history and say God has had nothing to do with the way our government functions. That changed in the 50's when the mafia and it's money became the government's worship. The gangs have changed but the politicians haven't

@SW-User It's utterly ignorance to look at American history while forgetting altogether (or even being totally clueless) about enlightenment, dude.
@SW-User The first amendment clearly states that there is no official government religion, while also guaranteeing freedom of worship. Obviously, people will be influenced by their religion, and politicians are no different, but the US is the same as other countries in this regard. While many countries have official religions, the word "God" appears nowhere in the Constitution. One reason for the strength of the US is our acceptance of diversity in worship. It's also why, unlike most other Western countries, religion is still popular here.

Nobody worships the mafia.
