The need for an annual Dan Rather award program

For those too young to remember, Dan Rather is/was the CBS news anchor who got caught with his hand on the political scale trying to undermine the George W Bush's presidential campaign. As I recall, he produced supposedly hard evidence that Bush's participation in the Texas ANG was mostly a privilege coddling. But, the (so called) convincing evidence, dug up from Bush's membership in the ANG was discovered on examination to have been produced with a typewriter that didn't exist at the time of Bush's ANG years, and was but political mischief fabricated by Democrats and fed to CBS. Rather then left CBS in disgrace as CBS rushed in to cover their trails.

That hard evidence, as it turned out, served to convince the American people of collusion between (so called) news organizations and the Democrat party, and may have even helped put Bush in the White House for 8 years.

More recent disclosures about collusion between our weaponized federal agencies and social media, and the news media point to a need for ongoing attention to collusion between politicians and the information industry. A good start would be an annual, televised awards dinner, comparable to the Academy Awards, and what better name for that award than the Dan Rather Award!". There could be categories, clips about contenders, etc., with the granddaddy award of the night being the Dan Rather Award.

Sounds like an excellent vehicle for the humiliation of the worst of the worst in the media!
