Honest question: what (specifically) is an “open border”?

I would think if a border was “open” there would be no Border Patrol and no border checkpoints?

An open border is a theoretical concept. There is no such thing anywhere in the world.

But right wingers make up definitions as they make their argument so it doesn't much matter.
