Thousands of anti-Israel protesters flood NYC to celebrate Oct. 7 invasion

Thousands of anti-Israel protesters flooded various New York City neighborhoods Monday to celebate the first anniversary of the onset of the Israel-Hamas war.

The demonstrations were largely planned by pro-Palestine advocacy group Within Our Lifetime (WOL). The group called on New Yorkers via social media to "stand with Gaza and uplift the Palestinian people resisting genocide by any means necessary."

WOL's demonstrations were scheduled to target Wall Street, Union Square, Washington Square Park, City Hall, Grand Central Station, Times Square and Columbus Circle, according to a flyer it shared to X.

Participating protesters Monday hoisted Palestinian flags and pounded drums while carrying signs containing various anti-Israel phrases, including "globalize the intifada" and "Judaism rejects Zionism and the state of 'Israel,'" according to footage shared on social media. Footage also captured demonstrators reciting anti-Israel chants.
