Capitalism baby.
If this republican congress quickly passed such a law, in their trump infected minds, it would help harris.
And i sort of doubt those governors will step in.

Interesting. "Dynamic pricing" in hospitality gets grumbled about all the time, but is scarcely challenged seriously under everyday business conditions. Then exactly the same practice, applied during a national emergency, is condemned as scandalous when an already scarce resource is put beyond the reach of many people whose lives andcwell being may depend upon it. Perhaps business licences for accommodation should be issued with conditions attached for the public interest.

Sure. Barring reason, you should definitely react in the crisis, and definitely avoid planning for safer lives.
Murkans voted to be road kill and war, you know. They know that's what political moderates voted for. They're very moderate.

I wish it was possible to put a bridle on this. Yet we are in a divided Congress as is. 😞

Price gouging.
This happens before, during and after every hurricane.
If it's not hotel fees it's the price of gasoline. If it's not the price of gasoline, it's $10 for a gallon a water.
This is why the government needs to have evacuation plans. One way interstates out of the danger area with mobile gas stations set up along the way and large government evacuation centers in specific areas out of the danger zones and far enough away from the coastline.
