Missouri homeowner shoots and injures half-naked intruder

Police revealed that a homeowner near St. Louis, Missouri, shot an intruder who broke into his house and stood over him and his wife while not wearing pants.

The suspect, identified as forty-seven-year-old Cedric Marshall, entered through the unlocked back door in the early morning and went into the bedroom. “Marshall then stood over the husband and wife while he was half naked and that awoke the homeowners," North County Police Cooperative Major Ron Martin told the media.

The husband then ordered Marshall, who was not wearing any pants at the time, to leave the home, after which the intruder lunged at the homeowner and said “you’ll have to shoot me.” The homeowner indeed shot Marshall once in the chest before the suspect declared “alright man don’t shoot me no more.” Marshall therefore went outside and collapsed in the yard due to his injuries until first responders arrived.

Police revealed that Marshall, who was hospitalized, left a trail of blood in the home. They found his pants on the back porch while examining the scene.

Marshall was charged with first-degree burglary and misdemeanor assault. The two children of the couple, who are five and ten years old, were in the house at the time.
