I'm not anti-immigration but I don't think one should go out of their way to fly them over.

@Spoiledbrat In that instance they are not illegal. They were brought in by a legitimate and legal program. However, whether we should or should not have such a program is a valid discussion to have and topic to vote on.
Spoiledbrat · F
@ViciDraco I think you know what I mean. No need to get technical.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Spoiledbrat The entire point of the law is to get technical.
Spoiledbrat · F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Not with me it isn't. I meant that bringing thousands of people here by plane who don't live here and was not born here is NOT economical. And I don't agree with it. Now that they are here I don't think they should be deported. But I don't think people should just be flown in when we have our own problems. That's what I meant so get over yourself. They knew what I meant. They just wanted an argument. We have homeless people here that need a job and to be flown somewhere.

I'm not the law. I'm a person who is simply saying illegals shouldn't be flown in when we're over budget. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

And I wasn't talking to you, you literally you interjected yourself into the conversation. @Spoiledbrat
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Spoiledbrat And we both know they are not.
Spoiledbrat · F
@Spoiledbrat Oh but let's just fix other people.
Spoiledbrat · F
It's so heartwarming.
Spoiledbrat · F
@Spoiledbrat Let's leave our own people who want a better life to sleep in a ditch or a park.

We don't care about our own babies. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

@Spoiledbrat First off conservatives are first in line to axe any support for the domestic poor in the US and always have been with perhaps the only exception being Bill Clinton. He borrowed from the GOP on that one.
So lets quit pretending it has anything to do with them.
And the actual facts show that immigration results in lower crime and better economic activity because literally nobody travels to another country to collect welfare. That is not a thing.
And you also seem to choose to pretend refugees are not a legal immigration status.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow If you're referring to the Haitians it's temporary. And yes people do come here to have babies and get on welfare. I personally know some. Not that I care but there has to be a limit. And we can talk all night and I will never agree with you.

I'm bored of you. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

What benefits do Haitian immigrants get?
Cuban-Haitian Entrants are “qualified aliens” under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) of 1996 and may be eligible for certain federal public benefits, including Medicaid, Refugee Cash and Medical Assistance, Refugee Social Services, Social Security, Supplemental Security ...Sep 5, 2024

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm busy now.

@Spoiledbrat For one most immigrants have a work ethic to the point that they see most North Americans as lazy.
They also have far more motivation.
And just because someone comes from a poor country it doesn't mean they are not educated or motivated.
Cuba for example produces so many doctors they literally export them.
And I mean sure. Some people are technically eligible for some benefits while they get their feet under them. Just like you are if you lose your job. So spare me.
It also assumes they even know how to apply for said benefits. Good luck with that. Drop you in a foreign country and good luck figuring out the bureaucracy with zero experience or even knowing where to start.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I know how to ask questions. There is such thing as a dictionary.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Spoiledbrat Neither will do you any good if you don't even know who to contact.
