Save democracy: Vote Trump

Elon Musk said:

"Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!

Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years.

The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the โ€œDemocraticโ€ Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!

Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying โ€œasylum seekersโ€, who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.

America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only โ€œelectionsโ€ will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty.

The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America. Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape.

Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco."

Elon Musk said that?? Wow!!

He's been making wrong predictions for years now!! He's one of the WORST sources you could cite outside tRump himself!!

And how many one-party republican states are there? Gosh, 17 states have a democratic "trifecta" while 22 states have a republican trifecta. But we don't hear you complaining about that, do we???

Musk has got a lot of things right to get where he is today: wealthiest man in the world. Who are you, Elwood?
ElwoodBlues ยท M
@sree251 Musk inherited money and did well with it on technical issues in years past. But he's terrible on social issues: he's messed up twitter and the cybertruck bigly, and Tesla sales are falling rapidly because environmentally conscious people don't want to give their money to jerks like him. Oh, and his billionaire friends offered to pay for rehab for his drug problem.

But if you believe success making $$$ means your advice is more valuable, then what does Bill Gates say? What does Warren Buffet say? What do Bezos & Zuckerberg say? None of them are fans of Trump and their $$$ add up to far more than Musks.

OOOPS!! You're gonna drop that $$$=correct like a hot potato๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

And that's more than I can say for whackos like you and me.

@sree251 So you're willing to leave everything up to the wisdom of those worth hundreds of billions of dollars? Plutocracy instead of democracy??

Plutocracy can get me a megayatch, private jet, a nice home with an 18 hole golf course, and a stable of nice cars not to mention bodyguards to keep woke people away from me. What does democracy get you, Elwood? A ballot to vote for Kamala?
ElwoodBlues ยท M
Democracy got Musk & Gates & Buffet & Bezos etc all their billions. What makes you think plutocracy will make you rich while democracy won't?

@sree251 Actually, my father was born poor in the deep south, went to college on the GI bill, moved to the northeast, and worked himself into a very comfortable position where he paid for college for me and my siblings. we LIVED the American dream.

Back then, tax rates were much higher, and the insidious lie known as "supply side economics" hadn't wrought its insane damage on the US.

Sounds like you came from solid American roots. What happened to you, Elwood? Why have you lost connection with our culture? Are you a minority of some kind?

Education, dude!!

Yeah, I'm cisgender white, Sunday school as a kid. I majored in physics in college, also took half my courses outside of STEM. And I learned about our great nation of opportunity. It IS a great nation and it can be made greater; but not by continuing to cut taxes for billionaires!

BTW, my father & his brother both served in WWII (my uncle was wounded in Battle of the Bulge) and they both voted democratic after Nixon. They too began to see the systemic/structural/institutional injustices and voted to help fix them (both have passed away now). We are hard working tax paying well educated Americans and we usually vote Democratic!!

There is nothing wrong with that. So, why can't you think straight? Take the border situation and migrants flooding into the country. It is disorder and destabilizing American lives.Trump wants to stop that. Why are you opposed to that?
ElwoodBlues ยท M
@sree251 I'm not opposed to dealing with the border. I supported the Senate Bipartisan border bill; the first major immigration reform since Reagan gave amnesty back in the '80s.

Remember who blocked the Senate Bipartisan border bill? Do you recall?? HINT: he uses orange spray tan and sells overpriced sneakers, bibles, coins and watches while he's running for president.

Forget the Bill. Why not just stop migrants from entering the US? No country allows this. There are migrants everywhere in my city now. Women with small children at street corners selling bottled drinks. Child cruelty. Poverty on display in America. This is not humane.
ElwoodBlues ยท M
@sree251 Why not? Because there's a giant loophole!!

For decades, US immigration law and policy was designed to spit in the eye of Fidel Castro by treating everyone who set foot on Florida as an asylum seeker. This helped earn votes from a swing demographic in a swing state.

And, by law, people at the border can STILL request asylum. And it's a long involved process and they get entry awaiting their decision in 12 or 24 months.

That's the law. That's the law that needs fixing. That's a major thing the Senate Bipartisan border bill would have fixed. No, I WON'T forget the bill.

Trump blocked the bill to keep the border as a campaign issue. He DAMAGED America for the sake of his campaign. No, I WON'T forget the bill.

I won't argue with you. Trump is on your mind and you won't let him go. You have no interest in fixing the migrant problem on its own merit. It's always about Trump and I find that sick.

Translation: you can't deny the damage Trump did by blocking the Senate Bipartisan border bill. This one IS about Trump and I don't care how "sick" you find it.

Gosh, every complaint you have about Biden, Harris, and the Democrats is history. Are you leaving all that in the rearview mirror?? Of course not, LOL!!!

Let's talk about tax cuts for businesses and for billionaires. What happens when you give tax cuts to businesses? They do a stock buyback. And the people who benefit the most are those with lots of options; such as the corporate officers who are partially paid in options. And these same corporate officers have been busily offshoring production to lower priced countries. Do we really need to reward them for that? Don't you think we can do better with that money? Shouldn't we be spending it on more infrastructure & defense upgrades??

Warren Buffett has famously stated that he pays a lower federal tax rate than his secretary, when payroll taxes are taken into account. Do billionaires like Buffet really need to pay lower rates than the working class??

Tax cuts to businesses keep hard earned profits in the hands of private enterprises. No, I don't think we, namely Congress, can do better with that money. Our crumbling infrastructure on top of a $31 trillion national debt speak for itself.

Warren Buffett has famously stated that he pays a lower federal tax rate than his secretary, when payroll taxes are taken into account. Do billionaires like Buffet really need to pay lower rates than the working class??

Buffet draws a salary of $100,000 a year. He returns $50,000 to Berkshire to defray expenses incurs by his staff on mail and phone calls. His take home pay is $50,000 a year. This is probably less than what his secretary makes. This old coot is smarter than the taxman and that's why he is one of the richest men in the world. Don't try to figure it out.
