His deranged speech is but one of his many signs and symptoms of his mental illness. He desperately needs a legitimate (I.e. not by Ronny Jackson) mental health screening by a legitimate medical institution. This should be accomplished by a team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, speech therapist, behavioral specialists, and include the full gamut of appropriate neurological imaging (CT, MRI, PET scans), labs for appropriate screens, etc.
I would recommend Johns Hopkins but there are other appropriate institutions.

@softspokenman If you do a Google search you can easily find the long lists of prominent mental health professionals who have publicly called for his removal from office (on more than one occasion). These professionals were criticized on the basis of a long standing ethical practice standard in mental health that you do not publicly comment on someone whom you have not personally examined.
However, I would argue that this is a special case: the POTUS actually has the nuclear codes. His behaviors fall outside the realm of what is acceptable to any reasonable person who observes him, yet alone highly trained mental health professionals. These professionals felt a professional duty to warn based on their training and experience.
Trump has repeatedly engaged in lawlessness, dangerous crimes, has repeatedly lied about his actions, demonstrates behaviors & symptoms indicative of serious mental health conditions—all warning signs that he is unstable and unfit. If he will not consent to a thorough investigation by a team of highly qualified non-partisan professionals, then he should be removed from the ballot.

@KunsanVeteran The problem with calling for him to be removed from the ballot would immediately be labeled "A political bias" and dismissed as being unconstitutional by the SCOTUS, no?

@softspokenman Actually a court could order him to submit to an evaluation or withdraw. He could challenge it, but in doing so he would be opening himself up to additional legal challenges.

It bears a strong resemblance to Al Capone. Capone was eventually released from prison to be cared for by his wife after his neurosyphilis reached end stage. There’s no doubt that Trump is traveling along the same path. His father and other relatives also died of dementia. There are some reversible causes of dementia (e.g. Pick’s disease), but the main reason that I believe it’s crucial to get him an impartial, thorough evaluation is to establish if he is competent to stand trial for his crimes. It’s clear to any reasonable observer that he is not competent to hold the office of POTUS but he might be fit enough to be held accountable for his crimes.
