Yes.
No. He won't be a "third-party" candidate when he does. The GOP will nominate him again.

Well, you make it sound like the Republican Party won't be able to quit him.

@MarkPaul

They had their chance to stop him in 2016 with Jeb.

They had TWO chances to convict him on impeachment charges and impose a prohibition on running again for federal office.

They had another chance to defeat him in the 2024 primaries.

And now his daughter-in-law Chairs the RNC.

Yeah, that's a safe bet.

@beckyromero I still can't get my mind around why Jeb did so poorly other than to surmise that at that time the attraction was drawn to a novelty and a general feeling that Hillary had in the bag. By the time the impeachments came around, the Republican Party had already become contaminated and they were dug in.

Geoff Duncan in Georgia has the right idea that "real" Republicans ("real" patriots) need to force-implode the Republican Party for it to rebuild itself that goes beyond simple re-branding. And, yes of course, Eric's wife needs to be dumped.

@MarkPaul

I remember a woman in the 2008 Dem primaries during a Town hall who told Hillary that all her adult life the choices were "Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton."

So there's that.

The other thing is that too many candidates allowed Trump to get 25%-35% of the delegates, which proved enormous once he hit the winner-take-all states.

But Jeb was right:

@beckyromero Yeah, he was. I do wish he and George (and Laura) were more vocal now. I suspect their mom, Barbara, would have been more outspoken.
