Anti-Israel Protesters Vandalize Cornell Administrative Building on First Day of Class

"Israel bombs, Cornell pays" and "Blood is on your hands" were spray painted on Cornell University's main administrative building according to the Cornell Daily Sun.

The student-run newspaper reported Monday morning that pro-Palestine activists graffitied the front entrance of the administrative building Day Hall and smashed one of the glass doors on the first day of the fall semester.

Cornell's Vice President for University Relations Joel M. Malina shared this statement in response to the vandalism: "We are appalled by the graffiti spraypainted, and glass shattered overnight along the front entrance of Day Hall. Acts of violence, extended occupation of buildings, or property damage (including graffiti) will not be tolerated and will prompt an immediate response from public safety. Cornell Police are conducting a thorough investigation, and those responsible will be subject to suspension and criminal charges."

Last semester, students staged a pro-Palestine encampment on campus that ran for 18 days. The Coalition for Mutual Liberation, the organizer of the encampment, voluntarily took down the encampment on May 13 but vowed to keep "fighting for the liberation of Palestinians in Gaze because no can be free until everyone is free."
