Is Rashida Tlaib really Anti-Semitic?

Why anyone would not expect a Palestinian-american to be even more vocal about the genocide than the average person with any ounce of compassion is beyond me

"Anti-Semitic" has become a nice-sounding way to refer to people who hate Jews ("Semitic" only is used in the broader sense in, e.g., linguistics, it seems).

Since the Congresswoman from Dearborn is a Palestinian American, she of course is against the genocide which appears to be going on in Gaza.

That's a policy of an Israeli government on its last legs, so technically not created by all Jews, but there are extreme Jews who look at any faltering in one's support for Israeli policies is necessarily Anti-Semitic (it isn't), and lots of Jews might well support most Israeli policies by default.

So religion & ethnicity & history are all interwoven.

I think Rep. Tlaib had been rationally opposed to the VERY broad application of violence against Gaza.

That's not Anti-Semitic.

Criticizing the government of Israel does not make one antisemitic.

She is anti American

She's a hard core anti-Semite.

Being against the genocide of Palestinians doesn't make you Antisemitic.

As far as I know, she IS a Semite. She might be against some Israeli government polices, but that wouldn't make her anti-Jewish necessarily -- many Jews are against the Israeli government policies.

I would say that it is neither proven nor disproved. She might be, she might not be.
