No Taxes and on tips

Heard that last night at a rally in Nevada, then heard the press secretary say the president supports it. What a great idea, who said they could not come up with good policies. I wonder why they never tried to pass it the last 4 years.

I know it was said on Jun 9th in another rally but does it rally matter who came up with the idea?

It absolutely matters. It completely side steps the fact that Kamala increased taxes on tips almost 2 years ago to the day.

She cast the tie breaking vote that passed the "Inflation Reduction Act" - which expanded the IRS including a program increasing scrutiny on taxing tips.

Kamala simply copying Trump now.
@Sojournersoul thanks for the bc

@BizSuitStacy Actually the first time this idea of not taxing tips was in the 80s.

The important factor here is to look at the hourly wage that many in the server sector gets.
A tipped employee engages in an occupation in which he or she customarily and regularly receives more than $30 per month in tips. An employer of a tipped employee is only required to pay $2.13 per hour in direct wages if that amount combined with the tips received at least equals the federal minimum wage. ($7.25 hr)

Now, from what I have researched, hotels/motels, and many of the major restaurant chains pay $15-20 per hour to their servers.

IMO, it is important that any wage needs to keep the employee above the poverty line.

No...the important factor is that Kamala cast the deciding vote to increase taxes on tips 2 years ago, then does an about-face to buy votes for her campaign. Libs don't cut taxes.

@BizSuitStacy Please.

Trump gives tax cuts to the ultra wealthy.
@JSul3 Parroting the lie AND changing the subject.
Again. Read his previous tax bill, and then pop off. Oh...and cutting corporate tax rates reduced costs for everyone and ultimately leads to increased tax revenue.

Now why is tax happy Kamala suddenly so keen to copy Trump's policies?

@BizSuitStacy At a recent rally in Montana, President Trump claimed that “Republicans passed the biggest tax cuts in American history, the biggest in American history. Everybody in this room is better for them. Everybody is better for them.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t true. Everybody is not better off from the recent tax cuts, which have only served to increase the federal budget deficit—now $779 billion for FY 2018 according to new data released by the Treasury Department. To be sure, the middle class gets help temporarily, but over the longer run, the middle class will be worse off.
@JSul3
...(tax cuts) only served to increase the federal budget deficit...
I'm going to remind you...Congress passed TRILLION DOLLAR SPENDING PACKAGES. So sick of you socialists in love with spending other people's money.

@BizSuitStacy Yes they did! The government does spend $$$.
It took votes from both parties to pass.
Do you even look to see what the $$$! is being spent on?

So, tell me what cuts to spending you want.
Defense budget?

I am waiting.

@BizSuitStacy We always tip in cash when we tip. Hopefully they don’t make them put it into a pool to be divided.
