Nancy Pelosi Admits She Pressured Joe Biden to Drop Out
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has admitted her role in pressuring President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
During an interview with The New Yorker, Pelosi shed light on reports that have emerged in past weeks, indicating that high-ranking Democrats were working together to persuade Biden to drop out of the race over fears that the president was unable to defeat former President Donald Trump in November.
Sources have indicated that such an effort was led by former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N) and Pelosi.
Pelosi’s latest comments prove that there was, in fact, a coordinated effort among Democrats to remove Biden from the ticket.
It appears that the effort was launched shortly after Biden’s poor debate performance against Trump in June.
The New York Post reported that Obama, Pelosi and other Democrats had threatened to remove Biden through the 25th Amendment if he refused to step aside.
On Thursday, Pelosi became the first high-ranking politician to confirm as such.
The California congresswoman said that although she holds high praise for the president, she wanted him to make a decision that would benefit the Democratic Party.
“I love him so much,” Pelosi said.
“I think he’s been a really fantastic president of the United States. So I really wanted him to make a decision of a better campaign,” she added.
“Because they were not facing the fact of what was happening,” she continued. “Just a little background. I’ve never been that impressed with his political operation.”
Pelosi was asked to clarify if her comments were about Biden’s political operation.
In response, she said, “Yeah, I’m not. I mean, I just haven’t. They won the White House, bravo.”
“But so my concern was this ain’t happening and we have to make a decision for this to happen and the president has to make the decision for that to happen. Let me just say, I won’t say necessarily I knew what I was doing at that time. I knew what I was doing in the whole thing, not just that ship,” Pelosi said.
The interviewer then asked Pelosi to reveal what her underlying plan was.
“That Donald Trump would never set foot in the White House again,” the California Democrat replied.
Trending Politics noted that the revelation comes as details continue to circulate over the “coup,” as some are referring to it, against Biden.
Obama, Pelosi and Schumer reportedly favored holding a “mini primary” at the Democratic National Convention, at which point the conference would decide on a new nominee.
However, Biden’s decision to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris led the plan to backfire, with Obama angered by it.
“Obama knows she’s just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should have health insurance. She cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her,” a source told the New York Post.
The California congresswoman, (Pelosi,) said that although she holds high praise for the president, she wanted him to make a decision that would benefit the Democratic Party. Notice she didn't say, that would benefit Americans or our country.

Obama knows Harris is just incompetent...but yet he still gave Harris his endorsement. Obama is another one who cares about power and party over Americans and the country.
And now, I just recently read that many of Obama's staff will now be working for/with Harris, which only means that Obama will also be working Kamala's puppet strings as he did Biden's.
Why would any sensible person knowingly go along with this? Are they deliberately ignoring? Easily deceived? Not mentally capable of voting? @BizSuitStacy
I think you know enough about Obama. But you need to read up more on Pelosi.
She was an effective Speaker when combating Trump. And I appreciate that. But she's way over on the left. Always has been, always will. Especially on matters of national defense. Need I remind you of her opposition to Gulf War II and her criticisms of President Bush.
Don't go by voting records alone. They don't tell you committee votes, voting one way because of a last-minute poison pill, bills introduced that never get to a vote, etc.
Trump likes to complain that Harris once supported a single-payer health insurance system. Well, so did he. Neither do now, so why bring it up? Because he knows MAGAs will believe him about Harris and refused to believe the FACT that Trump supported it as well - even though he WROTE that in one of his OWN BOOKS!
Tells what we already knew - Biden has been nothing more than a powerless rubber-stamper of radical Democrat policies, put forward by the actual committee of Democrats in charge. A real president would have told her to get lost and that he was in charge, nobody else.
Well, I say to you, are you American? If so, why do you have an opinion about British band King Crimson? Why do you even care?
I'll tell you why: because you appreciate good music. Just like I appreciate someone who will hopefully allow the US to finally take the lead on combatting climate change, which is the only issue I care about outside my own country.
@SW-User King Crimson rules!! Robert Fripp walked right past me once at a bar where The League of Gentlemen were playing. The band had to use the same restroom as everyone else, nowhere near the stage. I'd always said, "If there were one rock star I'd like to meet, it's Robert Fripp." So here he comes walking right past me! Someone else cornered him first, though. King Crimson has played music in the USA. Their live album was even called "USA." America's politicians have no jurisdiction over the UK. At least we can finally agree on something: King Crimson.
Clueless Harris, having established her political career through a disgusting affair with Willie Brown, now seeks guidance from a Wise American - Donald Trump - in her attempts to establish actual policy, stealing Trump's no-tax-on-tips plan.
Excerpt: Vice President Kamala Harris told Las Vegas, Nevada, she will copy Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's "no tax on tips" campaign promise, but the Trump campaign is exposing Harris for hypocrisy on the issue — not just the theft of it.
@graphite she's flip flopping on all kinds of things, but she's also pushing gov't price controls - an artifact of communism, and a disaster when applied.
Truman was right to have the UN defend South Korea. What was the point in having the UN Charter? The screw up was a class of egos between him and MacArthur and a misguided fear that the Soviets would get involved. Where I'd fault Truman with is the rapid decline in our conventional military forces, especially the navy, because we had "the bomb."
When Ike settled for an armistice on the Korean peninsula, he set forth a future in which North Korea would eventually develop their own nuclear weapons as a safeguard against invasion.
As MacArthur warned in his address to Congress, "War's very object is victory. Not prolonged indecision."
Thanks to Eisenhower, we've had 70 years of a prolonged indecision on the question of the Korean peninsula.
Ike was just as bad with the attitude that Truman had that so long as we threatened "massive retaliation" with our nuclear forces, no one would dare attack us our our Allies. Then the Soviets sent Sputnik into space and we had lost the race for an ICBM. Great job, Ike.
Yes, Eisenhower got us involved in Vietnam, JFK send in more "advisors" and then LBJ got in way over his head.
MacArthur had warned JFK to NOT get involved in a land war in South East Asia. Unfortunately, neither JFK and especially LBJ did NOT take MacArthur's advice.
@beckyromero What is the point of the UN? It is an agent for evil not for good. Don't forget the only reason that the war started was because the USSR failed to veto it. It was a stupid war that the US had no reason to be there. BTW the Canadians proved their military mettle at Kap Yong. They held their positions while every other national army retreated. Canadians were reduced to throwing rocks at sounds because they ran out of ammo. When the other armies relieved them they found over 200 dead Chinese soldiers that the Canadians had killed.
That's like telling us the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup last June, Mr. "Johnny-Come-Lately."
Pelosi was NEVER among those who wanted Joe Biden to win the Democratic presidential nomination in 2000.
She was in the Lizzy Warren camp.
And don't think she would have supported Kamala Harris to be the Democrat nominee in 2024, either.
But President Biden made sure that Harris would be the ONLY choice by refusing to drop out earlier like Pelosi, Schumer, etc. wanted. Harris, after all, was HIS choice to become president should anything happen to him during his term in office. Why the hell would he have made it easier for the back-stabbers to pick someone else? Or have some bitter convention fight to ensure a Trump victory?
Pelosi was a good Speaker to keep the House disciplined when that was needed to combat Trump while Trump was president.
But don't think for a minute she is a Democrat in the tradition of FDR, Truman, JFK, LBJ or Biden.
Remember, she worked to help Obama defeat Hillary in 2008.
Just like she and the Democrats pressured him to run. I don’t like Biden or his administration, but I would never wish anything bad on him. They took four years away from him when he could have spent the past four years of peace that he will never get back
I see Jill as evil. I would never allow my husband to live the four years that she allowed and appears that she forced him also
Hillary? WTF! Pelosi did what she could to STOP Hillary from getting the nomination in 2008 by silently backing Obama.
Had Biden withdrawn early on, Pelosi would have favored perhaps Newsom or Lizzy Warren after some sort of mini-primary. Something that Biden understood would destroy any chance of victory in Novemeber, which is likely why he waited and waited and when he did withdrawl from the race, gave the Dems no choice but to nominate Harris (who was intensely loyal to the end). Biden showed he understood presidential politics in a way the back-stabbers did not.
As far as the First Lady, I think the President's performance in the debate was hindered by as he said, he had a cold.
But also poor preparation by his campaign staff. Debate prep filled his mind with numbers and practicing responses. And, Biden, being polite, actually addressed the questions posed by Tapper and Bash. Whereas Trump just said whatever the hell he wanted, lying half the time.
You can't be polite when a jackass like Trump is your opponent. You need to use your time to refute everything the a-hole says, nevermind trying to recite figures and recalling a practiced response.
@beckyromero You are kidding , “ a cold “ The man has dementia, and even Democrats know this. I’ll say it again the first lady was cruel. She has allowed him to miss out on five years of just being with his family before he has gone into full dementia. I don’t like his policies, but I have never wished anything bad on him and I feel sorry for him.
I don’t agree with everything conservative stand for and I do believe in some of the liberal policies, but President Trump supports a couple of things that I consider the most important. I don’t agree with how he says things and how he is quick to say things without sometimes thinking about it.. but he talks in a way that people understand it and believe in.
Harris might have been loyal to her party, but she didn’t do a damn thing, except giggle when she was ass a tough question.
I’m not going to refute anything. Maybe you’re the one he needs to refute.
