I agrée that it does trivialize things. But it also reveals levels of bigotry when they only come up with sexist "nicknames" for women or make fun of foreign sounding names.

@bijouxbroussard that’s the first thing some people do, criticise women’s appearance. I just think it’s tacky all around. I mean if you don’t like someone’s policies - criticise by all means and challenge. But when it starts with silly names like above…they’ve lost me. Someone said the other day that they can’t believe how American politicians talk about one another in public. Not that politicians from my country are any better, I’m just saying. Shouldn’t there be a level of professionalism?
