From what I read she's intersex. There's a bit of confusion because people are assuming she's transgender. She has XY chromosomes but female genitalia (both sexes have female phenotype before sexual differentiation) because of problems during development, even tho she was supposed to develop into a male. I think it's a grey area but they're saying she has high testosterone levels so it can raise questions.

@Jexie Yeah, but biologically/legally female.
The entire premise of the Rowling, Musk et al. folk is that you have to stick with the gender that's written in your ID and assigned at birth, and in this case she perfectly did. Now, all of a sudden, they're screaming "Just because she was assigned female at birth doesn't mean she is one!!1", hence I'm calling out the massive hypocrisy.
I'll tell you more: from the stories I've seen at the very beginning of this entire parade, a lot of people (probably Rowling, Meloni/Salvini too) wrongly assumed she was a MTF, and now it turned out that this entire shìtstorm is instead caused by the textbook application of their very own strict, immutable gendering policy.

@Elessar Yeah, unfortunately for them, sex isn't as simple as they think. People like to politicise stuff because of their own biases or preconceived ideas without informing themselves, but biology doesn't care about any of that. Male and female sexual characteristics can mix because nature isn't perfect.

@Jexie Exactly. If the media was a serious institution, now there would be some serious pressure to make to these people. The Athlete is biologically/legally a female, competed as a female, resides in a country where gender transition is forbidden. Now all of a sudden the TERFs wish she would've had "transitioned" by playing in the male category?

@Jexie just wondering. Do we know this person is intersex? Generally that label is used when someone's physical anatomy doesn't quite line up with the binary.
But we have known of women who are XY with no physical differences since the 70s when it first became an issue in sports and then was declared a non issue.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I can only go off of what they're saying
Algeria's Khelif, and Taiwan double world champion Lin Yu-ting, were cleared to compete in Paris despite being disqualified at the 2023 World Championships after failing IBA eligibility rules that prevent athletes with male XY chromosomes competing in women's events.
WBC women's world featherweight champion Skye Nicolson pointed out that Khelif and Lin had both been beaten by women several times during their careers and said they "do not deserve this mistreatment".
"I've actually fought and sparred both of the girls," the Australian said in an Instagram post.
"They have grown up as girls, as females, as women. They have competed as women the whole time. These are not naturally born men who have decided to call themselves women or identify as women to fight women in the Olympics.
Some sports have limited the levels of testosterone allowed for athletes competing in women's competition, while others ban everyone who has been through male puberty.
Differences of Sexual Disorder (DSD) are a group of rare conditions involving genes, hormones and reproductive organs. Some people with DSDs are raised as female but have XY sex chromosomes and blood testosterone levels in the male range.
The IOC said the rules of eligibility were based on those of the Tokyo Games in 2021 and could not be changed during a competition.
Mind you, the athlete herself hasn't admitted to anything. There needs to be more transparency but it's obvious based off all this.WBC women's world featherweight champion Skye Nicolson pointed out that Khelif and Lin had both been beaten by women several times during their careers and said they "do not deserve this mistreatment".
