@SW-User No idea what the situation there was. I wouldn't know or care about it if not for the social media coverage today. A person has the right to present themselves as whatever general they desire in general life, but when it comes to physical/athletic competitions I'm on the side of genetic testing and an even playing field. Sometimes that is hard on participants, but that's life.

@Elessar Yes, it ONLY applies to sex divisions -- IF a competition is divided into male and female divisions, then the divisions should be based on genetics. Or, to be really fair, all competitions should be open to everyone of all genders/sexes, but that would eliminate an awful lot of female athletes from competing.

The truth is, chromosomes matter, but not nearly as much as the overall hormone wash. That's why biologists classify sex based on hormones, not chromosomes or body parts. So it's possible to change both your gender and your sex.

And as long as we're guessing, I think it's more likely that he's XY, or perhaps XXY, and maybe has genitalia that look female, or maybe he's intersex, we don't know.

One thing we do know, Boo-Boo, is that Patricio seems to have run into a real opponent in his 4th pro fight. Patricio got knocked out in 21 seconds, so maybe he is XX after all.
