Wow. A Republican who might actually be talking sense!!

New Hampshire’s Republican governor, Christopher Sununu, has called on fellow Republicans to “stop the trash talk” in a new New York Times op-ed.

Sununu, who has won four elections in New Hampshire, wrote on Thursday:

“The path to victory in November is not won through character attacks or personal insults.

In fact, those attacks are unlikely to bring a single new voter onboard. Catchy one-liners — calling vice-president Harris a ‘bum,’ ‘not a serious person’ and ‘bottom of the barrel’ — might rile up the base, but they do little to connect with independent voters needed to close the deal in November.

He went on to add:

“Attacks like those waged against vice-president Kamala Harris are unserious and don’t meet the moment that American families find themselves in. You have to connect with voters on their issues and their concerns.”

The Base, however, ONLY do as Trump says. Therefore, the attacks will continue and more and more independents and moderate Republicans will flock to Kamala :)
Meanwhile, last year, Trump had already labeled Sununu a "RINO."

“RINO Chris Sununu recently stated that, ‘I’m not running for president in 2024. Beating Trump is more important.’ No, he’s not running for President because he’s polling at Zero, and has no chance of winning,” Trump said on Truth Social.

The former president contended that New Hampshirites “no longer like or respect” Sununu, adding, “I never liked him...”

@SevIsPamprinYouAlways oops my bad. She was lieutenant governor previously. That's what stuck in my head. Thanks I'll reword it.

@Gibbon Both she and Brown expected coronations because they were Democrats, while Ehrlich and Hogan actually campaigned. Turns out that turning out gets voter turn-out!
@Reason10 Cultists like you have given up debating facts and evidence; instead all you do is sling personal insults. SAD!!

Sununu comes across as a sane Republican. That is rare because Republicans are insane and have no interest in governing.

@Crazywaterspring Well, I guess Trump did us all a public service, then, because now we know.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@Crazywaterspring or perhaps coocoo puffs?

@Crazywaterspring you can always move to Venezuela

Yeah, I saw that article. I'm pretty sure people on both sides of the political arena are sick of everybody taking the low road. In particular, it's going to backfire when it comes to Kamala because the worst thing they have so far is that she laughs, and that she's got mixed ancestry. Really makes you look like a stand-up guy when you make fun of that kind of thing.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
Take away insults, threats, and hate speech and tRUMP and his base have absolutely nothing.
Reason10 · 61-69, M
There hasn't been any trash talk about KKKamala Harris. Just the facts.

My prediction for the 2024 election : Harris wins the popular vote ,Trumps wins the electoral vote

@KunsanVeteran The only way he will is if the States send false electors, and the SCOTUS allows them. Otherwise, he's toast.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@Illyria Who woulda thunk that that odoriferous skunk might have actually pulled off his coup if not for Mike Pence doing the right thing?

🤯🤯🤯

@KunsanVeteran Well this time, Trump won't have a Vice President to rely on to do the right thing
Piper · 61-69, F
Yeah, even though he'll be voting for him...he seems to be one of the more reasonable Trump supporters.
