What is a Classic Liberal?

I don't like calling the Woke Leftists Liberal. I would love to have a classic Liberal in office.

Today, a true classic Liberal, is a Republican. He is for a free market, Free speech,
and limited government. He is also against heavy regulations and more government
control.

If you are a JFK type Liberal, you should be voting for Conservative Republicans.

Today, JFK would be called a far right extremist, by the progressive leftists.

If you look at policy and how it's changed over time in America: the opposite is true.

Nixon would be a liberal by today's standards. America used to have somewhat generous social problems and high taxes in the rich.

@MartinII Of course high taxation isn't part of that. I meant that Nixon would be a liberal in the typical American sense of the word.
