Why do people refer to far-left, violent extremists as 'Liberals'?

They're not 'liberal' at all. They're authoritarians, Marxists, communists who want nothing else but power. They're deviants, freaks, feral automatons who subsist on a diet of constant media propaganda, and who will at the turn of a switch transfer their loyalty (from Biden to Harris, for example). This is what they are:

As far as I'm concerned, they're demons in disguise, wreaking havoc for the sole purpose of causing chaos and confusion. They don't actually care about any of the issues they pretend to care about, but love to virtue signal as a way to present themselves as being the 'Good Guys'.

I find it extremely funny that you're doing the exact same thing you're complaining about.
@CountScrofula Care to explain how?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@NativePortlander1970 So her accusation is that liberals are being grouped in with the left and treated as a unified entity where all political differences are flattened.

This entity is then treated as some sort of insane evil completely divorced from how people actually are.

What she's doing is applying this treatment to everyone to the left of her. She removes liberals from that entity, but everyone else is just what the conservatives say they are.

The left is like any other broad political umbrella term. It's a huge number of conflicting ideologies that have some over-arching commonalities. I have met like six autocratic leftists in my life and hundreds upon hundreds who are not. We make fun of the Stalinists.

@CountScrofula the OP also said on another post that social conservatives don't have an ounce of racism even though that couldn't be further from the truth given it's that group that has historically been against expansion of rights

Dreaded coMmUnIsM

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@deadgerbil Ahahahahahahaa holy shit
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
@CountScrofula look up Pat Robertson (the late televangelist)'s father lol that dude was a conservative Christian(no surprise) who was staunchly against the civil rights movement(also no surprise) lol
@deadgerbil Um, you do realize it was the southern dixiecrats that opposed integration and civil rights, hmmm?
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
@NativePortlander1970 you do realize that party name means literally nothing? Or do you think North Korea is democratic bc it's in their official name?

Where groups fall on the political spectrum is completely irrelevant to party name

Literally look up Pat Robertson's father. He was a Democrat but if you actually know your history you'd know there was a party realignment which explains why the social conservatives moved to the Republican party (which his son was a member of)

This is basic education
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@NativePortlander1970 Many of those Dixiecrats are still alive.

Which party do they vote for nowadays?

@CountScrofula that's a provocative question daddy

It's a complete mystery as to why social conservatives transitioned to a party that better represents their regressive world view and why KKK is no longer Democrat(a party that's now pro immigrant) lol
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@NativePortlander1970 What point are you trying to make then?
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula I'm not sure how she's being violent.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Aami1 No she's not being violent. She's claiming leftists are all the same and all violent autocrats. Conservatives do the same thing, they just lump liberals in with leftists.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula So then I don't see how she's being the same thing, if she's describing them as "violent", and she's not being violent. And a lot of leftists call themselves liberals, and a lot of liberals call themselves leftists. Both unfortunately feed each other.

@CountScrofula Since the Port Huron Statement in the early Sixties, liberalism has become far left Marxism/Nazism.

Before that, liberal used to mean Laissez-faire free market capitalism, with less government intervention. That would be considered the libertarianism of the late 80s early 90s, back before the Libertarian Party became a bunch of stone Demonazi wannabes.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@Reason10 Your relatives must love having you over for Thanksgiving. Is the turkey a Nazi too?
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula Well, I think people will be less inclined to lump all left leaning people together when left leaning people stop putting all of reality that isn't them into some nebulous "far right" bad guy camp.
@CountScrofula
I find it extremely funny that you're doing the exact same thing you're complaining about.

Is that what you see here? If so, that glue you're sniffing must be pretty powerful stuff.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@Bel6EQUJ5 There is a trend among leftists of "if you respond or criticize, you are doing whatever you are criticizing". It makes no sense, but the entirety of leftism is about destabilizing order and functionality.
@Aami1 Wow. That's just... completely bizarre, completely twisted. I'm not even going to try to understand that. Utterly nonsensical.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@Bel6EQUJ5 One of the most ironic double thinks among them is that in 1984, Orwell, on several occasions literally says that the socialists are the ones controlling everything in his book. INGSOC stands for English Socialism. But then sometimes leftists pretend they are the one against a 1984 situation.

What they do most though is push things into your face until you comment telling them you dont care about it shut up etc and so they tell you you must care if you comment.
Elessar · 31-35, M
@Aami1
Well, I think people will be less inclined to lump all left leaning people together when left leaning people stop putting all of reality that isn't them into some nebulous "far right" bad guy camp.

Also the right:

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful ChristiansI I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote" - D. Trump

"We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be” - K. Roberts, Heritage president (conservative think tank behind Project 2025)

If this isn't "far right" to you maybe you should take some history classes.
Aami1 · 26-30, F
@Elessar I can but only face palm at you, taker of history classes.
