Why do people refer to far-left, violent extremists as 'Liberals'?

They're not 'liberal' at all. They're authoritarians, Marxists, communists who want nothing else but power. They're deviants, freaks, feral automatons who subsist on a diet of constant media propaganda, and who will at the turn of a switch transfer their loyalty (from Biden to Harris, for example). This is what they are:

As far as I'm concerned, they're demons in disguise, wreaking havoc for the sole purpose of causing chaos and confusion. They don't actually care about any of the issues they pretend to care about, but love to virtue signal as a way to present themselves as being the 'Good Guys'.

@BohemianBabe Ah, I was expecting you. Ironic that a communist (i.e. traitor) would post a Captain AMERICA cartoon.
@Bel6EQUJ5 I'm a Socialist, not a Communist.
Socialism is kinda the endpoint of what America was founded on. The maximization of western values, specifically freedom.

@BohemianBabe "I'm a socialist, not a communist..." - Is there really much difference? Both advocate for a large governmental bureaucracy, loss of personal freedoms, an end to private property, freedom of choice in general, and a host of other things that are truly abhorrent.
@BohemianBabe Hey, at least I like your gif 😊

@BohemianBabe Interesting avenue to express American values. Captain America inspired troops in World War II to fight against the fascist movement of the Nazi Regime while also including the Communist Movement based upon the villain "The Red Skull."
@RageAgainstTheMachine I guess he just didn't know that.

@Bel6EQUJ5 I did not disagree with the caricature; it was a simple observation.
@RageAgainstTheMachine I don't think the Red Skull was supposed to represent Communism. Though the character did become a Communist during the Cold War, that way they could keep using him.

TBH, I think the origin of Captain America was kinda cringe. He was a propaganda figure used to present the idea that WWII was about freedom, meanwhile America was aligned with Stalinist Russia, which was given all of Eastern Europe after the war.
Something I loved about the MCU movies is that they kinda deconstruct this. Captain America acknowledges that he looked like an idiot being used as a propaganda tool.

But these days, Captain America has been portrayed as more consistently pro-freedom. So I'm all for using him in anti-fascist and anti-tankie art.

@BohemianBabe His original use was mutated by social situation? How can America rally around a character of American Values if the character itself is changing based upon culture? Does it speak to the current situation that has been brought by Donald Trump and his own Make America Great movement?
@RageAgainstTheMachine Well the way I see at, Captain America didn't really mean anything to begin with. He didn't represent American values, he was a tool used to rally people against Authoritarians, while America itself was aligned with Authoritarians. He was a joke.

But all comic characters evolve. The original Batman killed all the time. Today's Batman represents the struggle a hero goes through to not become just like the monsters that they fight, so the fact that Batman doesn't kill is good, it made the character better. Captain America started out as an empty propaganda tool, whereas today he actually does represent American values.
And yes, it does say something about our current situation that people recognize how similar Trumpians are to Nazis.

@BohemianBabe Isn't it interesting how your election is now on the precipice of the values fought for 85 years ago. Human nature is baffling to me personally.
@RageAgainstTheMachine The threat of Authoritarianism never truly goes away, it can only be pushed back. And it's up to all of us to maintain our Democracy, then pass it on to the next generation.

@BohemianBabe If so fragile, it will inevitably win one day. At that point can it be reversed? If so, only by war?
@RageAgainstTheMachine We'll worry about that when we get there. 😣

@BohemianBabe I shall be intently watching your countries future play out on the world's stage. America is a powerful country, much more powerful than it has become; that is what is so tragic. America is becoming a circus to the rest of us, thus we will all fall into chaos.
