White Dudes for Harris, let's do this thing!

Well over 250,000 liberals have got the ball rolling... they are Black men and women, and White women answering the call... and that's just the initial numbers.

Now it's time for us White Dudes to answer the call. It's easy to do and you don't have to leave your favorite chair at home. Just go to Zoom at https://zoom.us/signin#/login, login or sign up and join "White Dudes for Harris" on Monday night (the 29th) at 8 PM ET.

It's time for us white guys to walk the walk...see you there.

P.S. Let's not let down our brothers and sisters (and ourselves)... well over 250,000 have already answered the call. We can't let them (or ourselves) down.

CORRECTION: The first step is to RSVP at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfv8CbvFVggb-D6bQ1-oPUNULwk6f1qzkjufYGIWFiCQ0Z8RA/viewform?fbzx=8114475012761985826

Last note, if you are going to be a jerk I'll delete your comment. Disagree but be civil.

Why do you support Harris? What policies or accomplishments of hers makes you feel she deserves your support?

@SlaveEt Harris is a mainstream politician. She's not perfect but she respects the constitution, democracy and political norms. Trump has openly declared his intention to be a dictator. He has threatened violence against opponents. He has openly stated he wants to suspend the constitution. That is high treason. Do you understand the difference now?

@SlaveEt she supports my right to change my mind through voting in 4 years. Can’t get trump to say he supports that.

I hear you. Is that all it takes to earn your vote, being a part of the status quo? I am curious to know what policies and achievements she has that you support. I don't care about her or Trump as people so much as what their policies, votes and past actions mean for me and mine.

@SlaveEt I start out with the character, intelligence, basic core beliefs, ethics, and morality of the person I support. If I cannot believe in the person, trust them, see they are level-headed, act with dignity, are willing to learn and see new ideas, and in general believe they are interested in what is best for our country (not just themselves), then I can't even consider them.

Kamala, I believe, has shown herself all through her time as a DA, Senator, VP and now presidential candidate to be such a person. Nobody is perfect... we all have our flaws and no, she isn't perfect, but she does seem to be a far better choice than the alternative, and is someone I can respect.

I've watched her strong support of key issues, issues important to me that include, but are not limited to Abortion Rights, LGBTQ issues, measured, fair actions concerning immigrants and immigration, social and racial justice/equality, ending the war in Gaza, work on providing a means for all to have adequate healthcare and in general, be one who will support an equitable criminal justice system.

I don't base my support and vote for those who will do something for me. I do support and vote for who I believe will be the person for our country as a whole.

So, while I have questions about Kamala, I have no questions about her opponent. He has through his entire adult life and in his campains and while president, shown who he is. I believe him.

@SlaveEt I support Harris based on her record as Vice President. Also, here in the San Francisco Bay Area we know her well. She was district attorney in Oakland, CA, 1990-2010. She earned a reputation for toughness as she prosecuted cases of gang violence, drug trafficking, and sexual abuse. She rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Attorney General, 2011-2017. Among her accomplishments is settling a nationwide lawsuit against mortgage lenders for unfair practices. She pressed California’s case and in 2012 won a judgment five times higher than that originally offered.

Harris’s book, Smart on Crime (2009; cowritten with Joan O’C. Hamilton), was considered a model for dealing with the problem of criminal recidivism.
