What is Democracy?

Is anointing Kamala as the new nominee, part of the democratic process?

Or should the people have a say?

The people elected delegates to represent them. These delegates will cast their votes, during the DNC National Convention in Chicago August-19 through August through August 22.

But it looks like you're not familiar how this works.

But I understand your confusion, because you may be more familiar with how the RNC works.

For instance, when the RNC National Convention kicked off, the MAGA police confiscated all the delegates phones, and handed them a prepared platform and told that they would not be allowed to discuss it, and they are only allowed to vote yes on it, as well as Trump as the nominee.

First time this happened and a sign of things to come, as the RNC morphes into MAGA. Not discussions or dissent allowed.

The DNC works differently. There will be discussions, and a vote on both the platform and the candidates. And that's how democracy works.

@Northwest dont let the facts of the matter get in the way of a good story.

I read that those delegates didn't even have an opportunity to read the platform they were forced to approve.

You read correctly. They were handed a copy, and told this is it. No discussions permitted.

That's alright, though @Northwest. The cult mindlessly agrees with everything trumps says anyway.
His platform could call for the citizenry to give up their vigin daughters, and they would comply.

@Northwest

I never elected them so how does that work ?????
I should have the choice not the " delegates " ... isn't that what the primary was suppose to be for ????
Aren't they circumventing common practices ????
They didn't know that he was unfit before the primary ????

@pdockal I get the confusion. That would be the case in a direct democracy but our government is a republic democracy in which it is layered. We vote for local and state officials. State officials vote for higher offices like the presidency.

@Northwest Do you have a reliable source where what you said occurred: viz taking of phones, occurred?
I’d like to look into that.
Can’t find it. Thanks.

You must have tried really hard. All I had to do was google: "rnc confiscated phones"
@Northwest Well I thank you. And I will look that up.

@Northwest That’s a brilliant explanation. Basically Donny Two Face came prepared. There would be no dissent within the ranks. You either do as I say and vote for me or be found guilty of treason.

@soar2newhighs The removal of phones was reported in the news. Trumps little party of organizers decided it was necessary to stop any delegates leaking any news to the leftists media vultures before Donny Two Face had a chance to spit it out via Truth Social to the worlds waiting media.
@justanothername Did not know of it or hear of it until northwest posted.

@soar2newhighs The phones thing is the tip of the icerberg, but it's not like the cultists are going to actually get themselves informed, and making decisions accordingly.

@soar2newhighs CNN reported it.
@justanothername I went to The NY Times link provided by northwest,
