The leader of the Southern Baptist Convention’s ethics & public policy entity was fired 1 day after he praised President Joe Biden for ending his reelection bid.

This is the third consecutive president of the group to leave office in controversy. The previous leader resigned in 2021, after years of antagonism largely arising from his criticism of Insurrectionist-Cry-Baby-trump and his support of survivors of sexual abuse. His predecessor retired "suddenly" after a plagiarism scandal.
