POV of a Quiet Trump Supporter

I'm a moderate who agrees with perspectives from both the left and the right. I have friends who are Liberal and friends who are Republican. If someone has a different perspective than me, I never get upset with them. I listen to their point of view and always respect their individual opinion. I've always enjoyed politics and listening to different podcasts and shows. When I was 18-19, I voted for Trump. I was open about it and got a lot of hate in the blue state I'm in. When the next election came around, I was exhausted from hearing everyone's opinion on Trump. I didn't like Biden as an option, and I was focused on surviving in my own life. So, I decided not to vote.

I'm 26 years old now. I understand Trump is far from perfect. I've heard all the same cons about him millions of times from people who spew the same brainwashed monologue. Most of these people aren't really in tune with politics or world events. I just agree with them to keep the peace since I never bring up the conversation of politics around them 99% of the time.

My real point of view: I like Trump. Most politicians and celebrities have narcissism. Guess what? I don't care. He is very patriotic and I genuinely believe he wants to see this country succeed. People who compare him to Hitler are sick in the head and have no concept of history. My grandfather was a German-Jewish Holocaust survivor, and my family still remarks that he would have loved Trump. I believe in liberty or death. I agree with people disagreeing with me. I love respectful debates. I love the First Amendment and the right to bear arms. I love seeing legal immigrants come here and change their lives for their families and themselves. I love seeing a mix of nationalities in my beautiful city. Seeing the assassination attempt on Trump and his response to stand up and address the crowd made me realize he is a real American, like the leaders I read about in history books. I love America. Yes, I support Trump even if he is far from perfect. He represents the grittiness and unwavering strength of this country. If you disagree, guess what? That's your right.

There's nothing "moderate" about supporting someone who's tried to override democracy with a coup d'etat, and who's campaigning on doubling down once elected.

@Elessar You're in the wrooooong neighborhood Elessar .

Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster First amendment and absolute freedom of speech, right? Or does it apply only to the klan?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar Who said anything about denying your 1st amendment rights(even though you aren't an American citizen)

You threatened by Sesame Street characters?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster The fact that rather than debating me on content you tell me I'm in the "wrong neighborhood" is quite telling. Watering it down with an unrelated sesame street meme doesn't really change the meaning or the intention.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar Oooh somebody's feisty today. No AC again?

Fine. Trump did not try to start a coup. Temporarily delaying a ceremony for several hours does not constitute a coup.
@Elessar How open minded you are. LOL!!!

@NoThanksLeon Said the one who's advocating for stripping away rights
@Elessar Really? Which "rights" were stripped away during Trump's presidency 2016 - 2020?

@eli1601, weird sense of humor, or are you one of those boomers who can't tell the difference between the laughing and crying emojis?

@Elessar
And this was a failed coup d'etat by pretty much every possible definition of coup d'etat

is that right? Were there other coups that were resolved peacefully in a few hours after the alleged conspirators packed up and went home? Care to detail them here?

The entire world minus Trump supporters in America identify it as such

They don't actually you just believe that because you are stuck in a bubble and don't let contradictory info enter into that bubble.

re: Scotus and project 2025

There's nothing to rebut here. I know your beliefs about both of these because they are the same as so many other's.

If you believe the Supreme Court answers to Donald Trump you are suffering from paranoid delusions.

Project 2025 is to left wingers what the WHO and WEF are to right wingers. It sounds scary, but then you realize that America has a balance of power and isn't going to give that up to any PACs or NGO's.

Serious question: You mad cuz Trump wasn't killed?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoThanksLeon Roe, Chevron, complete immunity for the executive, Project 2025, do they ring any bells?

Also the right to have a fair election, if your orange demigod throws a fit and threatens a coup d'etat any time he loses btw
@Elessar Roe was overturned during the BIDEN/HARRIS administration. None of those others are rights. Try again. 🤣
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster All the failed coup d'etats, yeah. See also Bolsonaro's. The only difference is that in sane democracies those who attempt and fail a coup d'etat usually aren't given a chance to try another.

Nah, it's just a coincidence that in over 200 years of history the only president that gets a complete immunity pass from the SCOTUS is this dude. Totally not doing him favors lol

P25 is a conservative program from a conservative think tank, it's to the left what "socialism" is to "national socialism". I.e. only American right wingers who slept in school see "tHe LeFt" in there. "Check and balances" have gone to hell the moment this SCOTUS decided that presidents can be arbitrarily above the law.

I'm not even convinced he's got actually shot in the first place, lol
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoThanksLeon By the Republican judges in the SCOTUS, m*ron 🤣
@Elessar So Trump did NOT take that right away. Name calling won't change that fact. 🤣
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoThanksLeon Who's appointed them? Are you really that dense, or are you pretending?
@Elessar Who appointed them? The legislative branch. Trump NOMINATED them. That was his job. 🤣
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar So Bolonsaro is the only one you can conjure up? That wasn't really a coup either, just another riot.

It's disappointing but not surprising to see how your faculties have degraded as time has gone on.

Time was, you'd offer up a spirited debate that was actually challenging for me at times. In the past you have been articulate and relevant, today you just seem bitter and cranky. You have nothing relevant or interesting to offer. I don't even have to research any of this to rebut it.

I think its interesting you don't even believe that Trump got shot. That should be a wake up call for you that perhaps you might need to step back and get your head back on straight.

I hope you feel better soon!
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Elessar Dude really? You really think Trump appointed them? They were nominated and had to be vetted and approved. You should know this.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@NoThanksLeon You know those 4 years olds that hyper fixates on the form, thinking that a spelling mistake is sufficient to dismiss the entire content? You're there. Hopefully you'll grow up to act like an 8 years old before the next next election 🥴
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SumKindaMunster See above. Fixating on formalities and ignoring semantics is extremely childish.

@Elessar So is stubbornly ignoring what was said to you and doubling down on your nonsense.

Appointed and Nominated are two very separate words. If you are sincerely saying you confused the two, so be it, but you should own up to it and not act like its semantics because you used the incorrect word.
