@kittee So why does the US have troops all over the world if it has no empire? Not to mention which the land mass of the US is bigger than most ancient empires so there is that.

@kittee Did you ever hear of the British Empire? I think the US used to be a part of it. Growing up in Canada I certainly knew about it. The Queens picture was on the wall at school. Yes America is an empire. It has combat troops all over the world whether the countries they are occupying want them there or not.

@Roundandroundwego You mean the rights that most of the civilised world had adopted long before the USA slowly dragged itself into the modern world! American empire? No! having troops all over the world doesn't make an empire. America used to be part of the British Empire, but Americans threw tea into Boston Harbour amongst other things and became a nuisanse, unlike Canada
