Iran has elected a non-hardliner president, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian. He secured slightly over 50% of 30 million votes.

Ayatollah Kamenei rather ominously stated, "We know there are those who do not accept the current regime it is not like they are hidden and not seen."

From what I see reported, the majority of Iranians don't want an extreme right wing government, but they are forced to endure it by the power grabs of the religious extremists in the nation -- kind of like the GOP dram for the US.
