This image of a little child crying in an old fashioned outfit suggests a return to old fashion values which I think is going backwards. And that child is too little to be manhandled. Psychological studies show physical abuse is damaging to many children and teaches violence.

@Stuffy Studies mean nothing it for that Me generation and bunch of parents that push over afraid to discipline their kids the right away when need. we don'y spank all the time. Only when needed.

@SDChris71 I was never afraid to discipline my kids. I did fine without violence. I took parenting classes.

@Stuffy That is Good. I just don't like when one side say spanking is abuse to children. I seen abused kids and my son doesn't look abused. He is loved, cared for an spanked when need. I don't need a Therapist and doctor telling me were messing up or kids, when were not. Just My oppinion.
@Stuffy The whole point of the caption is what that kid got to teach him right from wrong is far better than what could happen to him if he's allowed to run wild. Psychologists may not agree but corrections officers would.

There’s no other context. There’s such a range of what people would consider a good learning opportunity for a young kid, especially when the punishment involves tears. If we’re talking physical punishment it’s rarely the best option. I’m not confident anyone reading this has the wisdom to figure out when it’s appropriate and when it isn’t. Best to err on the side of cautious nurturing. Hit children can grow up to be violent themselves which would get the attention of corrections officers! 👮‍♂️ That is the point you’re missing
