Is there an optimal way to discuss politics on SW or are we stuck in a never-ending cycle of passive-aggressive comments and escalating emotions ?

I can deal with the petty emotions what irks me the most is when people lie in the most easily discredited way possible. Like, I know how to google yearly unemployment rates with a single search. Its just lazy and condescending.
