A Democrat-led town council in Connecticut has ignited outrage by rejecting a motion to fly the Thin Blue Line flag in honor of a state trooper killed in the line of duty.
They chose to fly the pride flag instead, sparking a firestorm online.
Conservatives blasted the town council after a video went viral showcasing Democrats dubbing the Thin Blue Line flag racist.
“They flew the pride flag at half staff to honor him,” Libs of TikTok posted. “I have no words. This is disgraceful.”
Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier lost his life last week after being struck by a suspect under the influence of cocaine and fentanyl during a routine traffic stop on a state highway.
He leaves behind two young children.
Pelletier’s widow tearfully paid tribute to her husband at his funeral on Wednesday, calling him “my honey, my home, my heart, and my best friend.”
Others on X weighed in to blast the Democrat’s move. “This is how Democrats honor a fallen officer. How degrading and disrespectful. There’s no low for them,” Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said.
