the american constitution needs updating to raise the standards for federally elected candidates??

i believe this is one thing we can all agree on??

We have a minimum age limit, perhaps a maximum age limit? I think that could possibly sell. Perhaps allow for public input in the SCOTUS nominations. Not sure how that would work, but politicizing the SCOTUS is bad news.

But things like not allowing someone convicted of a felony from holding office seem like a slippery slope, because the public has a discretion already of not putting criminals in office.

I do think the insurrection clause needs to be clarified or otherwise removed.

@trollslayer clarified, definitely. They need to specify what they mean by insurrection.
Updated how?

@BizSuitStacy i intentionally made it vague using a simple yes or no question. feel free to make suggestions!!
@lpthehermit I have no desire to change it. I'd like to see our gov't not violate it.

@BizSuitStacy or say, call for it to be terminated...temporarily?

Do you know what amendments are?

For starters, let's talk about the fact that criminal convictions should disqualify presidential candidates.

@trollslayer Yeah, I see your point. Like if I were to be disqualified from running for president (not that I need the headache) because of a weed charge, that would be stuріd.
