Unfortunately, there are no easy answers to the question in the middle east. Hamas could force an end to the war now, by being the brave party and release all the hostages. Then Israel would have to cease firing. But, Hamas has no such intention.

@samueltyler2 i was talking about the protests. Rather than assume and call them all antisemites (like Netanyahu), you validate that their concerns are legitimate, then educate them on what language is hurtful and why. And those that are truly hateful, you identify and remove.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer i am suggesting that the protestors have no clue why they are protesting. If the bombing is what they are interested in, okay, call for that to stop, in Ukraine as well, but don't call for the destruction of Israel. The author doesn't address that part enough.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 yes he does. He illustrates that those calling for destruction of israel are a small minority and unwelcome
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer that is his interpretation, not that of others attending the demonstrations. The Jewish students attending the in question schools claim that expression is widespread.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 this article is written by a jewish student attending an in question school.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer yes, one student, his opinion. I have no problem with it in that regard. The problem of what is free speech transcends the manuscript.

Why did you post it if you didn't expect someone to disagree with it?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@samueltyler2 You can disagree but it would help if you could give actual reasons for an opinion!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Burnley123 I did. Just as the writer of the opinions n piece, stated his opinion, that is what I did
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 and the students you mention are also stating an opinion. My point with this post was to illustrate the media painting this as all antisemitism, but there is another valid viewpoint.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer maybe, but, in light of the fact that they are not demonstrating about Ukraine, in which probably as many people are being killed, and the number of munitions dropped by Russia actually exceeds that of Israel, how else can your explain the difference?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 simple. The groups organizing these protests have been around for a long time advocating for palestinian freedom. Decades. These are people who are citizens of no country, have lived under military rule with restricted freedoms for decades. Ukraine is an internationally recognized country, with a government and citizens. Ukraine is fighting against an enemy that we don’t give military aid to, while palestine is fighting israel, an ally who we give military aid to. They are protesting against their schools’ investment in israel. I doubt those schools invest in russia.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer Palestinian freedom, are you serious?..
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 yep. You dont think they should be free?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer they are.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 a foreign power is occupying your land and you call that free? Are they free to move to israel? Have the same rights as israeli citizens? Allowed to defend themselves against settlers taking their land?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer you don't have your facts right. Review the history! Do you not believe the state of Israel was created legally? Do you believe the state stole Arab lands? If not, then you are showing your hand.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 They did take arab lands. That is 100% fact, and if you dont believe that, then you are showing your hand. Was gaza part of the un partition? Golan heights? West bank? Nope.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer who attacked who in the Golan? Tell me how you see the history of Gaza! Have you looked at maps throughout the past 2000 years?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 and not a single other country recognizes those lands as part of israel, with the exception of trump admin.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 doesnt matter who attacked who.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer Gaza has never been considered part of Israel. Don't put tRump into this discussion. Have you ever been to Golan? You do know why Israel wants it to be a buffer zone?
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 i understand. But that doesn’t mean its not occupied territory.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer of that is your definition so be it. But the non-jews living on those areas have the same freedoms as the Jews. Israel has made many mistakes, no doubt, and violence is rarely, if ever, an appropriate response or preventive.
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@samueltyler2 no, they have different laws. You can look that up.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@trollslayer i was there, I disagree.
