Freedom of speech will die unless there is a radical shift.

There is already loopholes... like you can't yell fire in a crowded area, unless there is a fire.

The only thing different here is how does one define hate speech?

Because if you're trying to kill all Muslims, Jews, Christians or non-religious, then maybe that should be banned.

But if you're just saying anyone that say something positive about Trump is hate speech, that's just BS, and should not be banned.

But whom draws that line and what are their rules?
@sstronaut The problem with that is it is a false dilemma. No developed country in the world has hate speech laws that get you in trouble for saying something unpopular.

I have yet to see any laws against hate speech that does not clearly state it is defined as speech calling for violence or persecution of others.

For example here in Canada nobody is going to lock you up for being a fan of Maxime Bernier (Basically the Canadian Trump).

You will run afoul of hate speech laws like the organizers of the "freedom convoy" who said they would rape the wife of the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada to punish him for being a race traitor.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow It's currently a false dilemma, but I've also seen video of a woman attempting to get a guy arrested simply because he was wearing a Trump hat on her college campus (where I believe they were both students there) and he was shockingly patient with her, and she stole his hat and wouldn't give it back, as she argued with Campus police whom refused to arrest him.

But you are correct, currently it's not an issue, but a few people, are wanting it. I just mentioned it to point out that there is a line to it.
@sstronaut Ummm sorry but a Karen video on youtube is not a valid basis for a slippery slope argument....which is a fallacy anyway.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow No one cares about your argument for argument sake...

I certainly don't need your validation to have an opinion, so stop wasting both our time, thank you
@sstronaut Says the one using Karens on youtube as an argument.

And for someone who doesn't care you are having quite the meltdown. lol
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Not really a meltdown, just informing you that you're wasting your time. But maybe you like wasting your time?

And there is nothing wrong with the argument, it's real life and just because you don't accept it as an argument doesn't change the reality that some people do wish it that way.

So all your bellyaching changed absolutely nothing.

@sstronaut America already drew the line. We have a first amendment. The idea we need less free speech because we can't technically say anything in all contexts is insane. Free speech means you can say anything, it doesn't mean you can plot anything. Yelling fire in a crowded theatre is a plot to cause chaos and possible physical damage. But we should be able to express any idea we have. If you think genocide is good, you shiould be allowed to express it and argue for it. The idea that we can't allow an argument to be made, is silly. We need free speech.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Why would anyone be butthurt? You disagree, so what? No one cares

@BRUUH no, you don't need to be to express idea that would kill thousands on purpose. There is no need for that.
@sstronaut Clearly you care enough to throw a tantrum like a toddler in the candy store.
@BRUUH Oh boy. Tell me without telling me you learned about the first amendment from youtube videos. Yikes.

And you have to be delusional to see that genocide and screaming fire in a crowded theatre result in the same results.

The idea that everyone involved in the holocaust just magically came to the same conclusion independently is ridiculous.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow lol you keep going with this lie about some tantrum
@sstronaut You do realize your posts are public right? You can't just accuse people of lying when your own posts prove the exact opposite.

I get you are a bit confused.
