Rep. Jasmine Crockett Democrat from Texas suggested that black people should be exempt from taxes. Is this fair?

People who are all about exempting the rich melt down at the thought of any other non-white and/or non-rich group getting exempted

Here's who thought this is what went down: Fox News, and The National Review, and you.

In reality, this is not what happened. This was a "gab" session on a “The Black Lawyers Podcast” last week..

In response to some random thought, about Blacks be paid some sort of reparation through tax exemptions, she said that someone, somewhere, suggested that, and added:

““I don’t know that that’s … necessarily a bad idea, One of the things they propose is black folk not have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time because … that puts money back in your pocket,” Crockett told host J. Carter.

But they also discussed that this is not going to be help for a lot of black families, because they don't make enough money to qualify.

Not to mention that Texas does not have a state income tax.
Everyone has to pay taxes.
@Spoiledbrat Exactly, Crockett will be violating the 14th amendment's equal opportunity under the law by legislating special allowances.

No, actually, she didn’t.

If not mistaken Texas does not have a state tax. She wants to raise the issue, it would be with the Federal Government, and albeit she’s a democrat, she needs to understand that the Government WILL get their taxes. Perhaps she won’t file this year. Then see what happens.

Some people will try to get free money any way they can. Even if it’s through the burdening of others or at the expense of others.

@Patriot96 not to argue but if you take a close look republicans seem to have outdone the democrats in recent years , take a close look and make up your own minds.

@Repete have you hears about student loan forgiveness or Ukraine

@Patriot96 look back just a few years at someone’s biggest debt increase to date. It wasn’t because of Covid. But like I said I’m not going to argue because people usually believe what they want to believe because someone else told them something they wanted to hear.

Show me the whip marks on their backs and the scarring on their ankles and hands from the chains and the hard work, and then we will talk.

So not Americans any more then? Taxation obligations are even written into US passports. Citizens must pay.
Fairer. The entitlements that we all need to be fully social are the enemy of the capitalist class. They have decided to teach powerless Americans that we can't be a free social democracy. And we can't.

No, but neither is constantly cutting taxes on the Super Rich, yet the GOP keeps doing it, so...

Can you post your source for that?
ron122 · 41-45, M
@badminton Can't you do anything on your own? Typical democrat.
badminton · 61-69, MVIP
@ron122 The person making the claim should post documented evidence for that claim.

Death and taxes are only two certainties in life.

No, just no

Maybe I should ask Crockett that as a descendant of Irish indentured servants if I can be included as well.
