Arizona abortion ban: Trump speaking from both sides of his mouth.

The former president, speaking to reporters after landing in Georgia for a fundraiser, said the law in Arizona would “definitely” change and defended his view that abortion policy should be left to the states even as some of them enact restrictive bans.

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that existing state law banning abortion is enforceable. What was Trump insinuating when he said that Arizona's highest court went too far?

I don't think it's a bad idea, and not duplicitous on Trump's statements.

The old Arizona law is there, but will be changed. Their Supreme Court isn't there to pass or amend the law. The law is there, and there's nothing for them to interpret, so the system is working right there. So, the onus falls on the legislators to modify and modernize the law.

Trump wasn't being clear. If he meant that the people of Arizona will get it right if they want to change the law, then he should have stated so. "Going too far" is a critical comment. It pointed to his bias for changing the law.

@sree251 I see his statement as a perfect balance. Truthfully, aborting a pregnancy is not a Federal government issue, and I am glad to see it moved to the states. My view on abortion is probably similar to Trumps. I value human life, but I am not willing to cut the baby in half to keep either side from getting their way. And, truthfully, there are many women suffering from liberalism that will make the world a better place if they don't pass their genes on to the next generation.
