Arizona abortion ban: Trump speaking from both sides of his mouth.

The former president, speaking to reporters after landing in Georgia for a fundraiser, said the law in Arizona would “definitely” change and defended his view that abortion policy should be left to the states even as some of them enact restrictive bans.

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that existing state law banning abortion is enforceable. What was Trump insinuating when he said that Arizona's highest court went too far?

Trump often speaks out of both sides of his mouth, is often logically and factually inconsistent, and the next time he opens his mouth he'll say something different. Occasionally, he'll deny having said something he said previously, but even then, he might come back to contradict himself.

The trick is, imo, to just accept the fact that what comes out of his mouth is chosen based on how it will benefit Trump in the moment.

He sees not being bound by facts, logic or honesty as virtues, and personally, I think it's a mistake to search too hard for those things from Trump, or for that matter, from his followers.

Abortion is a pretty good example of his amoral pragmatism, but its only the tip of the iceberg and I think that anyone who votes for Trump because they agree with him on any issue is really missing the boat.

He doesnt care about issues, or people, other than as tools he can use for his own benefit.

"Amoral pragmatism" is an apt phrase that I would even apply to myself. Of all the politicians in America, I detest him the least.

In fairness doesn’t that apply to all politicians? Didn’t the DC Archbishop recently condemn Biden for calling himself a “good catholic” based on Biden’s policies? All in fairness Trump does take it to the extreme lol. @MistyCee

@jackjjackson

Biden...?
A "good Catholic"...??? 😂 😂 😂

@sree251 Focus on the a part of amoral. Most of us can be pragmatic about moral concerns, but Trump seems to never even consider them, at least in any way other than as obstacles to himeslf or as a line to use on suckers.

@MistyCee Easy on the TDS and slander there lefty. Those are coherent sentences you are hearing. I'm sure you aren't used to that!
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
I didn’t say he did. Whether or not he knows he did is another question 😳

Get this. Pix now claims that YOU are Mr Slade’s sock puppet lol

I’m sure he has his own moral compass 😂 @MistyCee

And Trump actually knows that he is making them. @TexChik

Pix NEVER gets it right. 😂

@jackjjackson If he has his own compass, my guess is it always points to himself
@TexChik I'm not sweating the slander, although I may check my VPN if he wins.

Funny thing is, I think, on abortion, Trump is relatively coherent and isn't accidentally saying stuff like about airports in the revolutionary war.
TexChik · F
@MistyCee you're a pro at it .
TexChik · F
@MistyCee you can count on his original statement being true ... its a state issue, not the Fed's.
@TexChik It makes sense to that it should be a state issue, and always has.

But if it becomes politically convenient for Trump to call for a nationwide ban, I dont think he'll blink.

Trump says things I agree with, things I don't, and sometimes he says stuff he disagreed with a minute before.

What I dont get is why anyone trusts Trump to do anything other then act for Trump.

It spins like a top @MistyCee
@TexChik Trump HAS been pretty consistent since he focused on fleecing Republicans:

And assuming that Trump-style "truthful hyperbole" is about Biden, congrats, you've got it down.
TexChik · F
@MistyCee Fleecing? Proof? And citing NBC as a factual source is a joke, don't you think?

@MistyCee I’d give you best answer!! 🏆🥇

Are you being fair to Trump? I don't know Trump personally. Passing moral judgment on anyone I don't know is not my cup of tea. His sexual moral conduct as US President has been above reproach. He is an American businessman and as amoral as the law allows. We have to judge him by American standards within the bounds of US laws. As US President, he is above all laws and allowed to kill people, including Americans, in the national interest.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@MistyCee I don't understand. Do you have any concrete examples or do you get hypnotized a lot?
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@sree251 Very odd take. Trump did more for world peace in four years than Biden did in fifty.
@sree251 Am I being fair? Probably not, and I get not passing judgement on others, but he's a candidate for President and I'm just giving my opinions based on observations, and even then, not so much making moral judgements as much as pointing out what seems to be a complete lack of them.
@IronHamster Concrete examples of what? I'm afraid I posted too much yesterday, came back, and now, well, I get the not understanding.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It’s simple. Overall the policies during the Trump administration were superior to those under the Biden reign. With the news coming out Fauci is the true Covid criminal. @MistyCee
