Correct...no state sponsored church. It does not mean that Judeo-Christian values had no influence in the law or the constitution.

I'm not saying let the Pope dictate legislation. The Vatican should keep its collective nose out of world politics altogether.

The Declaration of Independence famously proclaims that people's rights come from a “Creator” and “Nature's God” — but doesn't specify who that is. So you cannot claim it was founded on Christian principles. The evidence doesn't back up your claim.

This is pure conjecture. Nobody has the facts about the founding fathers. They could be a bunch of crooks. Be that as it may, their religious convictions are reflected in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the US.

Every state constitution mentions God or the divine. Even our US Dollar states that in God we Trust. Why don't you guys give us a break?

@sree251 Didn't Thomas Jefferson write a version of the New Testament, omitting all miracles? It was called The Life and Moral of Jesus of Nazareth. I think that by humanizing Jesus into a teacher instead of The Son of God says something of his religious beliefs.
