The Vatican rejects gender theory.

It's about time the Pope stands up to America's Catholic President.

Separation of church and state. America should not be guided by theology or by organised religion. The mistake the USA has made is to allow religion to influence its politics.
@Richard65 separation of church and state meas no state sponsored church, i.e. freedom of religion. US was founded on judeo-christian principles

@BizSuitStacy The words "separation of church and state" do not appear in the U.S. Constitution, but the concept is enshrined in the very first freedom guaranteed by the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." Known as the establishment clause, the opening lines of the First Amendment prohibit the government from creating an official religion or favouring one religion (or non-religion) over another.

If you allow the Catholic Pope to guide US legislation or advise the President, then you're favouring one religion over another. And weren't the original settlers white Anglo Saxon Protestants (WASPs)?

Correct...no state sponsored church. It does not mean that Judeo-Christian values had no influence in the law or the constitution.

I'm not saying let the Pope dictate legislation. The Vatican should keep its collective nose out of world politics altogether.

America was founded on Christian principles. The US today is a nation without a soul.
@sree251 the US has lost its way

You can see why in Joe Biden. He is a crook and looks it. I like his style, though. He stands up for the LGBTQ people the way the US goes to war to protect democracy and freedom.

@sree251 The Founders were not all of one religious mind. Some were traditional Christians such as John Jay. Others were deists with no Christian beliefs like Thomas Paine. But all the Founders shared a commitment to a secular nation with NO established religion.

The U.S. Constitution doesn't mention Christianity or any specific religion. The Declaration of Independence famously proclaims that people's rights come from a “Creator” and “Nature's God” — but doesn't specify who that is. So you cannot claim it was founded on Christian principles. The evidence doesn't back up your claim.

This is pure conjecture. Nobody has the facts about the founding fathers. They could be a bunch of crooks. Be that as it may, their religious convictions are reflected in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the US.

Every state constitution mentions God or the divine. Even our US Dollar states that in God we Trust. Why don't you guys give us a break?
@sree251 ignore the guy. Typical leftist Brit who has a Google level of understanding of the US's founding principles.

@Richard65 you're a typical socialist infected with TDS who still hasn't learned his right from his left. "Oh look at Trump said." But let's ignore what the deep state is actually doing. Conservatives in living in your head rent free. We know what you're going to say before you say it. That's because you parrots are programmed like those dolls where you pull the string and it says 4 things.

@BizSuitStacy save me your deflection and disinformation. Like I said, I can see right through you. That's why you're angry at me - precisely because you know I'm right.

@sree251 being woke only means you care about other people and aren't a selfish individual. That's why you hate it so much.
@Richard65 ohhh...there goes Cap'n Projector: "Look at what Trump said"...just don't look at what democrats are actually doing.

Got your goose-step going there Dicky
@Richard65 being woke means shove it in the face of others. Then call the rest of us names when we object. Keep it up.

@BizSuitStacy lol, do you realise that's Strategy #3 in Karl Rove's Republican handbook: Accuse your opponent of your own weakness..? So he pinched it from Goebbels? Interesting.

@BizSuitStacy that's actually a perfect meme to describe MAGA Republicans. Thanks, I'll use that and replace LGTB with MAGA PROPAGANDA. 👍

@Reason10 I've told you before, I can't take your deranged ranting seriously. Every comment you make (or that I can be bothered to read) just makes me laugh.

@sree251 Didn't Thomas Jefferson write a version of the New Testament, omitting all miracles? It was called The Life and Moral of Jesus of Nazareth. I think that by humanizing Jesus into a teacher instead of The Son of God says something of his religious beliefs.
