This post is lifted off an article that first appeared on the New York Times and republished on DNYUZ.

@sree251 Why don't you post the actual citation? I don't remember the article, but, yes, tRump is trying to pose as a religious icon, divorced several times, guilty of rape,
Here is an opinion piece from the NY Times, maybe you should read it in its entirety, for it ends with the statement:
"In other words, conservative populism, with all its antidemocratic implications, has taken root in America. What we don’t know is for how long — or how much damage it will do."

But if not in the NY Times, he did use his Truth Social:
Former President Donald Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account on Friday, declaring him as "second" only to Jesus.
The post by Truth Social user @austinnegrete said: "Jesus is the Greatest. President @realDonaldTrump is the second greatest."
It accompanied an image of a painting of Jesus by artist Dan Wilson.
Trump "ReTruthed," or reposted, the Jesus comparison to his 4.1 million Truth Social followers.

In a brazen post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Received this morning—Beautiful, thank you!" and then a message supposedly sent by one of his supporters, which read, "It’s ironic that Christ walked through His greatest persecution the very week they are trying to steal your property from you. But have you seen this verse…?"
He then added a passage from the Bible, specifically from the Plea for Judgement of False Accusers. The passage read: "They have also surrounded me with words of hatred,/ And fought against me without a cause./4 In return for my love they are my accusers,/ But I give myself to prayer./ 5 Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, /And hatred for my love.
"6 Set a wicked man over him,/ And let an [a]accuser stand at his right hand./ 7 When he is judged, let him be found guilty,/ And let his prayer become sin./ 8 Let his days be few,/ And let another take his office."
The post then concluded with the supposed message from a supporter: "I’m praying this over you daily. So many praying for you. Thank you again for taking the arrows intended for us. We love you"

Trump IS a religious icon. You may not like his religion but that's you. In America, we believe in religious freedom unless you are on the left.
