Most US Conservatives think that the 2020 election was rigged.

So why bother standing in the next one? It doesn't make any sense, if you genuinely think that the system will be set against you.

Also, the Democrats rigged it extremely badly because they didn't give themselves a super-majority.

It's a case of people choosing to believe what they want. If all politicians are liars, then pick the lie you like the best. suspend disbelief, like you would watching a movie.

Do you have sources that most conservatives thing this? I think the loud ones think that.
Most people know it wasn't rigged - and that Trump is a super divisive candidate who lured out a lot of voters for and against.

But yes it is dangerous when people lose faith in the democracy.

The people who support new strong leaders often make the crucial mistake of thinking that they will be in the top of a new form of rule. They wont. Everyone will suffer more. And that is the only consoling thing. Eventually, down the line, people will acknowledge that idiocracy was not superior to democracy.

Idiocracy is democracy. Has democracy ever worked for you personally?

@sree251 Very much so. I am allowed to live, work and travel. I am relatively safe despite being an odd one out in gender expression.

Democracy is advantageous to any other form of government so far achieved. I know an increasing group in the US is flirting with more autocratic forms of government. I find solace in the fact that I know how this will play out if anti-democratic forces win. A new strong power will emerge - and treat everyone super poorly, including those who fought for the new strong power. Only a select handful of people will benefit from it.

Sadly the dumber you are, the smarter you think you are - and therefore a lot of people who support autocratic reasons think that they will move up the food chain. They wont. A lot of people will move down.

But yes. It is a core problem that dumb people also get a vote. But the alternative, to rule them out by intelligence testing, would give them no alternative to violence which I think is worse than letting them vote.

American democracy works for you. It protects your right regardless of your orientation and ethnicity. However, you still have to live among other Americans whose attitudes may be offensive. Democracy allows them to exercise their right to public policies they want. Majority rules.

@sree251 You know other countries than the US exists, right?

What are you insinuating? US public policies offer you no protection against dominant cultural orientation of American society you live in. US public (i.e. official) policies are crafted for short term political power gains. It is not about your personal freedom. Minorities need to tread carefully in any society including the US.
