Why do Republicans want “Civics” classes to replace “Social Studies” classes in schools?
Republicans hate all things civic-minded after all, it’s not like one of those subjects ought to be more friendly territory for right wingers than the other.

The state of history-based education in the US is strange. My fiancee and I are the same age. In her state, US history class was utterly dishonest and just kind of brushed off any American genocides or atrocities, whereas in my state, US history class discussed the full scope of such events.
I went to HS in Texas and she did on the East Coast, like the former middle colonies area.
