Is Mitch McConnell the lesser of multiple evils... now that he has resigned from Republican leadership... effective November 2024.

His departure paves the way for the near complete MAGA takeover of the GOP. Remaining: Romney and Thune.

Romney responded with a "No, no, no, no way", or something like that, on the question: will you be voting for Trump.
@Northwest Mitch hasn't exactly been standing up to MAGA. I think history is going to paint him as standing by quietly while his party got hijacked.

@robingoodfellow He stood by, while MAGA put him in position of power, allowing him to appoint all those lifers on the Federal bench. But of course he's too civilized to acknowledge he knows them.

@robingoodfellow Sadly and pathetically, McConnell really wasn't that silent. After calling out Cry-Baby-trump for insurrection, he was pretty vocal about not indicting him. After claiming to care about the institution of the Senate, he was pretty aggressive in falling back on greedy behaviour to ensure the institution prevented one president from nominating a Supreme Court Justice and pushing through nominations from another president under the same circumstances... and slyly laughing about his antics.

He may despise maga and their anti-American values. But, he has been both vocal and aggressive in enabling them. And, now he is running away by taking a self-invoked victory lap.
