That's a tough one.
I remember 43 more because he was president when I was in high school and college. So I will give him a slight edge.
George W did what his father refused to do: finish off Saddam Hussein. And he led us well in the aftermath of 9/11 when a much greater panic could have set in (just compare the determination of the country after 9/11 to the panic during COVID when Trump was president).
Neither seemed to deal with hurricanes very well. (Although Jeb did)
Probably the best case for 41 is that how he handled the Soviet Union. On the other hand he (and Bill Clinton) blew it on Afghanistan.
No president was perfect. But we were fortunate to have both of them as president.

@beckyromero I kinda think of Bush 43 as the guy who lied us into a 5000 lives $2 trillion mistake in Iraq.
Saddam Hussein had no WMDs, posed no clear & present danger, and the mutual hatred between Iran & Iraq kept both in check. When Bush took Iraq off the table, that left Iran free to export terrorism, as they have been doing these last 20 or so years. Kinda the icing on top of the 5000 lives $2 trillion mistake.

@ElwoodBlues
🤔
That's sort of like blaming new Cubs manager Craig Counsell for the failure of the Cubs to make the playoffs in 2023.
Isn't what Iran did after Bush left office the fault of those who came into office after him?

@beckyromero I wouldn't say so, no. Iran & Iraq were holding each other down. Remove one, the other rises. And after the waste of the Iraq war, who had the stomach to heat things up with Iran?
