There is s much missing here it isn't funny..

Clinton wasn't faced with a cold war.. nor was he faced with inflation in the double digits....

You can't compare the rwo at all...
@nocool Let's follow that logic a bit further - you can't compare ANY two presidents, and thus the whole idea of a "best president" is meaningless!

Regarding the end of the cold war, the first Bush also benefited from that, yet his economy was terrible. Clinton began with a tax increase - strictly against the tenets of the "supply side" religion - and produced a better economy than Reagan produced with his signature tax cuts.

Sure, you can't compare anything really, but when you do compare anyway, you find that "supply side" is nothing but an excuse for reckless spending by republicans, with no other benefits.

@ElwoodBlues
You don't see me comparing President's..
1st Bush did bennifit from that, but he was also a part of it.
Baby Bush had the credit crisis hit while he was President... so for that crisis, both parties are at fault accompanied by the FEDs actions for that....... however; Bush gets the blame... which is fine... that BS happens to all the leaders...

It is President's policy i look at...
This President(Biden) is a good example...
He is very socialists... he takes the stand that we work for him... he tells people they are full of shit... and thinks himself above it all... Just like Trump.. to some level...
Pfft....
He supports more what a group wants over individual rights removing equality under the law... That is the very reason for the constitution. Which is his job to uphold and protect.... much like our border...
That is by far my biggest issue..
Majority rule is highly dangerous...
Majority rule brought us slavery... and many other things....

We all would do well supporting individual rights over the loudest mouth..

@nocool The threat of nuclear war during Reagans administration was extremely low and the CIA and federal government has even admitted to grossly exaggerating the threat the USSR loses during the 1980's in order to move certain agendas

@MethDozer
Not true...
Where do you get your facts?
MethDozer · M
@nocool simple reading son.
nocool · 51-55, M
@MethDozer
Not sure you are reading books that accurately report history.
I was alive during that, so i remember all of it...

Either way...
We are about to go to war soon...
So all this will be under threat anyway...
We will be speaking Chinese and Russian or America will survive another to fight...
MethDozer · M
@nocool I was alive too. And history has not reflected kindly in his administration. The country was not in a good place during his administration and hasn't been after it. Trickle-down doesn't work accept to create a smaller middle class and concentrate wealth in fewer hands.
nocool · 51-55, M
@MethDozer
That isn't true.
You need to revisit the truth of those days...
History doesn't reflect what you are saying at all..
If you like today's government... then it would be natural for you to have your opinion on the government during that time.
From the points you make... Tax heavily the rich..
Push that to social agendas....
Sounds like a real plan..
That always works...
MethDozer · M
@nocool Oh but it does. Wages stagnated, the deficits increases and at the end he increased taxes because his dumb ass economic plan was unsustainable. He created a homeless and metal health crisis we still see growing today. He left us from being the world's largest creditor and turned us into the world's largest debtor.

Yes taxing the rich does work because tax breaks and austerity encourages them to hoard instead of spend. The economic boom and growth of the middle class of the 1950's until the 1970's and the stagnation of the middle class when we cut taxes on the rich in the 1980's proves this.

If you like Reagans concepts. Then the country has been near perfect for the past 30 years.
nocool · 51-55, M
@MethDozer
You will have a hard time proving much of what you say...

Supply side economics shut down inflation and lowered prices.
Spending by the government did increase during Regan years because of the cold war... Clearly you are not aware of the big picture... Just what you want to see...
The Spending during Biden years Dwarfs everyone almost combined....

The fact you find our economy today as "good" is insane.
MethDozer · M
@nocool Not hard at all

I don't find out economy good today. I find it to be a trickle down travesty brought in by Right wingers simping for the rich
