@samueltyler2 Americas economy is follow. Supported by ever increasing overseas debt. The money being printed of years is finally showing up as inflation no one can hide. (or wants to apart from the government)😷

@whowasthatmaskedman inflation stabilized, maybe even dropping. Gas is cheaper than it has been in over a year, consumers feel comfortable debt and are but ng lots of gifts, unemployment is low, those are good indicators. Yes, our national debt tax as driven up before COVID, then COVID came along and nearly killed the economy. It took a great administration to bring things back in line.

@whowasthatmaskedman well, if you do not believe the published indicators we really can't have a rational discussion. Gas has really never really obeyed the laws of supply and demand.

@samueltyler2 The public face of the US economy has been deliberately made to look as rosy as possible by successive administrations. Like a broke household getting a couple of new credit cards and living it up for the month. In the meantime every American man, woman and child owes the rest of the world over $70,000 for goods and services you have already consumed. Tell me how you are planning to pay it back??😷

@whowasthatmaskedman US citizens pay among the lowest overall taxes in the entire world. The progressive tax system is broken, with the top earners paying a much lower proportion of their wealth than people in the lower income brackets, that is the portion of their income above that needed to support themselves and families. We need tax reform, we need to eliminate the tax breaks that only the rich can take advantage of, that has been the overall goal for decades, but there are those who have fought against these changes for years. Historically every few years a certain party comes to power, lowers taxes and the country goes further into debt, then the other party comes into power and adjusts things resulting in an improvement in the economy, and thus the cycle continues.

@samueltyler2 Broadly speaking I agree with everything you just said.. But raise a point. The reason you are one of ther lower taxing nations is because you slip over a Trillion dollars further into debt every year. Now thats Trumpanomics.. Spending other peoples money..😷

@samueltyler2 Well Yes. But thats different. Trump doesnt offer value for his investors. He never plans for the longer term..Now we can argue that "trickle down" is creating an underclass of poor and uneducated. But it does look after the rich who have enough to leave America after they strip it bare. (Separating the damage Trump does with the damage US long term policy does through accumulating debt.)😷
